Chiasso?
Nope!Chiasso?
Nope!Lugano?
It reminds me of Tarnów, but it’s not quite the right shape. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s somewhere along the south of Poland though. Here's the next one!

Bohumin?Not quite!
Getting closer, but no.Bohumin?
Modernised and accessible station, name on blue background. However, a bit of research suggests the OHLE stanchion is Czech or Slovak rather than Polish.Superalbs, I think we might need a clue. Four days with no response!
Looks convincing to me, but I'm not the OPPraha-Vršovice (Prague)?
Very good, that's the one!Praha-Vršovice (Prague)?

Tangier-MedThanks!
All right, where's this?
Wow, that was quick. Correct answer.Tangier-Med
I’d have got as far as Morocco from the combo of the French-designed loco and red star on the front, but beyond that would have been a case of ‘pick a random city,’ which is exactly what I shall do now…I've seen pictures of it before. It's a distinctive looking station.
Almaty?Let's try this one.
I'm afraid not, though I can see why you'd think that!I’d have got as far as Morocco from the combo of the French-designed loco and red star on the front, but beyond that would have been a case of ‘pick a random city,’ which is exactly what I shall do now…
Almaty?
This is the right answer!Ulanbataar, Mongolia
This is the right answer!

I know that station! And I think I knew where you stood when you took the photo. But I'll give others a chance first.Sad to think that I had fully planned a trip from Sweden to Mongolia by train (Umeå - Vaasa - Helsinki - St Petersburg - Moscow - Ulaanbaatar) when Russia invaded Ukraine. We ended up flying and I glimpsed the station on the way in from the airport.
Back to Europe… this station does not currently have passenger service, but it’s coming.

Haparanda has passenger service. My random guess would be Haparanda, but I'm not convinced as it doesn't match satellite imagery...
Ah - I must have been thinking of international services instead!Haparanda has passenger service.
I know that station! And I think I knew where you stood when you took the photo.
This station lost passenger service around the same time as Haparanda, but it will return in a few years. And I would be surprised if that doesn't include international trains (at least one).Ah - I must have been thinking of international services instead!
Tornio?
