Yip I'm the same mate, got the application withdrawn one in June and got the next stage invitation yesterday too. Unsure what to make of it all really, wonder what's changed behind the scenes from then until now.
Is it not worth changing your arrangements for the tests?
Wouldn’t count on it, especially for the the depots further north. Then again the Crew depot has now been given the go ahead, so watch that space.

Let's hope there are more retirees than they expect
Gutted not to have made the grade this time but also heartened that I've passed all the assessments and won't need to do them again. Next time I'll much better prepared for the interviews!
Hi everyone, I have my stage 2 assessments in 2 days and feel fully prepared in regards to the CBI with the “give me a time‘ and experience type of questions. However I am just wondering should I be expecting other questions i.e about the company, why I want to work for ? Etc or would this be at the DMI stage ?

There’s courses for qualified drivers in both January and April but not been hearing much about trainees at all

Is this for January and April 2025? Is this inside information. Surely trainees should get pushed onto one of these courses.

Yes 2025. They won’t have any trainees on them courses at all as qualified drivers don’t need to start from scratch so it’s a different course. I was told trainees are being moved to the side for now so they can focus on sorting out the shortage of drivers by recruiting qualifieds as they take a lot less time to become fully productive

That makes sense to be fair. So does that mean trainees like myself are looking likely to start later on in 2025?

Couldn’t tell you I’m afraid, don’t hear much about the goings on with trainees. A few trainers have left or are leaving so that could also affect things. Also depends on what depot you’ve gone for and their staffing needs

Yeah apparently they’re recruiting for new trainers as apparently there’s not many of them left now so I’d imagine with training new drivers early in the year trainees will be likely to get on later in the year now

Couldn’t agree more. Even if it’s an update to let us know it won’t be until after April, any update is a plus.

Same. focusing on Polmadie applicants at the moment. at least they are moving forward although it's not for my depot

Email specifically says they are focusing on Polmadie.
Yes just checked and I did too. This is good news. Fingers crossed we are on either the Jan or March courses

I believe they would have got different emails to us as I'm assuming they are at different stages in the process
