So how many are yet to be accepted into service? I had an hour at Sandhills yesterday and the same at Central and saw 34 of them.

Only ones I've not seen are 029/033/043/053/144/152.
I can reduce your list by reporting that I've ridden on the following:
033 15/09/24
144 19/09/24
152 24/02/24

According to my records, the only units still awaiting their first passenger workings are; 029, 035 and 053.
Where did you see 777035 yesterday, was it in passenger service?

I saw 777144 yesterday on Kirkdale depot and 777053 was also on Kirkdale but ran ECS to North depot early evening.

Haven't got yesterday's trip results anymore but i am a regular on the Merseyrail Network so didn't necessarily see 035 yesterday.

777029 in service today according to PTS
Appears to be the case. Can anyone please confirm the first day of passenger working for 777029 and 777053?

Does anyone know what's happened at Aintree, they've just said a train is still stuck there from Last night
It's the Network Rail MPV (DR98901/98951) which has broken down, not a Class 777.

That would explain why it's still there, although 9 hours is an awfully long time to not sort it, has it derailed or something catastrophic

For 029 my notes suggest 27/08/24 but that would be the first date I have heard of it in service. 053 appears to have first appeared on Monday before doing what 777s do best :D

Thanks for the info. Since my earlier post, I have heard reports 777053 was in service on the Chester line last Sunday, 22nd Sept. this being its first day in passenger service. It was taken out of service in the afternoon due to a camera fault.

Passing Kirkdale earlier and I think 777004 has finally been moved? It'd been in the same spot for weeks, completely powered down and missing a wiper - is it fair to assume that's being rectified and looking to get it back in service?

They’re running eight car services on the Southport line today. Would that be some sort of testing or related to capacity demand? I rode one from Moorfields at around 2pm and it wasn’t busy.

There have been two or three 8 car diagrams on the Southport line for about six weeks now. This is why services have been temporarily recast to link the Hunts Cross - Liverpool Central services with the Ormskirk line, rather than with Southport services, as it is not yet possible to run 8 cars (in service) south of Liverpool Central.

I’ve been away most of the summer so I missed a lot. Does that mean when everything is settled right car service will be the norm?

I guess you mean eight car service?

I understand so, for certain diagrams / peak workings, but don't expect 100% eight car operation of Hunts Cross - Southport services.
