It should have been 44871, it went by here around 20 minutes ago running about 8 late and I missed the front loco but it seemed a little too quick for a steam loco so I’m currently just awaiting confirmation as to what it actually was. I think it had to perform a reversal at Guide Bridge due to Ashton Moss - Denton Junction not being currently available.

Thanks, I had noticed it was running 5 minutes ahead of time earlier on so I was also suspicious from RTT that it may be a diesel.

Just had some further info to say it should be the Black Five on the front and 57 on the rear though still not convinced from what I heard/saw earlier that it is the case, although happy to be proven wrong!

Anyone know why it had and took a booked 2 minute stop at Hathersage.

Presumably the train was hauled by the 57 from Liverpool to the loop next to the site of Dewsnap yard with 44871 on the rear.
