Hi,

Before you start I am not going to go and ask for a printed copy of every restriction code

When buying a specific ticket, for example, an off peak return, am I able to ask the issuing office for a full printout of the restriction text which is applicable to that ticket? If so are they obliged to get it for me?

As I am into ticketing I do not want a summary but the whole thing.

Thanks,

TP

They are not obliged to print it for you, but they will provide details of any restriction that applies to your ticket usually orally.

The way they could print the restriction is for them to go into THE MANUAL and get the restriction (which normally has others on it) then print the web page.

As full restriction text is available elsewhere then I would say it is fair that they don't have to print it out for you.

They have to print the NCCoC if you don't have internet access (I think that might have read that in a FOI request, either way it is written somewhere.)

note: Would this thread be better merged with this
one?

NRCoC have to be provided on request, but afaik a link to the website was sufficient to meet this requirement?

Ok, what I'll do is ask politely and see what happens  I was just curious as to what would happen if you asked for the full restictions :)

But I'll also (for this instance) ask for the restriction codes and then look them up on 'wintonian''s site

Off Peak Day Return Norwich to Stamford
Off Peak Day Return Stamford to Leicester.

So if you could post them I'll look 'em up.

Thanks,

Find restrictions below:

Off Peak Day Return Norwich to Stamford

[B3] By any train except those
timed to depart Mondays to
Fridays before 0900

BoJ okay.

Off Peak Day Return Stamford to Leicester.

[BX] By any train except those
timed to depart Mondays to
Fridays before 0930 or between
1530 and 1815

BoJ okay in both directions.

I think First class has out-of-date information. In NFM 08, valid until last week, a CDR Norwich - Stamford (Lincs) was indeed Restriction B3 [Outward M-F not before 0900]. In NFM 09 it's Restriction B5 [Outward M-F not before 0830].

Correct on all counts there.

I'm not obliged to print out restriction text. Upon request I either tell the customer or write it down for them. The only time I print them out is when staff elsewhere wrongly refuse passengers access to trains, so I provide a stamped printout to help the passenger out.
