Do they pay 38k when training and if so, how much is the pay package once qualified.?

That's training Salary, a qualified driver someone more in the known of their qualified pay rate will probably come along and mention.

Full rate is £78,187.

I don't know if there is a lower 'post qualified' rate of pay for the first year or two there, but can't find any reference to one.

There is no first year rate anymore... once qualified you go straight onto the full rate as a fully productive driver as now all diversionary routes are taught in training rather than post qualified.

We're also already guaranteed RPI in 2025 for the last year of a multi year deal.
Good for you - as it should be!

It is a 4 day, 34 hour week there. 35 minute PNB (up from 30 fairly recently), and two hour spare movement (down from three fairly recently).
Looks intense work though yes.

Like Southern, they stop getting paid at the platform and don't get walking time back to the booking on point (unlike a fair amount of TOCs).

If you're on 80k i dont think you'll be too fussed. I know SE don't, or didn't, know if that's changed but I doubt it lol

Interesting thanks both. Didn't know walking time wasn't included but as said there is very good pay as a tradeoff.
It's all metro work so yes pretty intense.

As per the driver traction & route cards thread:

Is Willesden Work just as intense as New Cross work?
As stated above it is metro work so can be intense but personally I dont think it is AS intense as NXG. A few of the transfers from NXG have said its much better at Willesden, and we do get some variety with the GOBs and 710s, plus with the amount of disruption on the NLL most days.

Yes it is perhaps marginally better than NXG which many have suggested is very repetitive.

Ah, have a colleague that joined Willesden not long ago, he's probably close to passing out but but he did mention the Variety word. Thanks

Assuming this is addons? 73 and 78k are floating around but apparently it's the lower value? Either way very good money for those going for this Job.

To clarify, it's just at the end of a duty it's not included. Being a 34 hour week, it's as good as a 35 hour week with it included, at most depots I would say.

Yerp variety is the keyword.

No add ons £78,187 for classic drivers at NXG & Willesden where Sunday is inside the working week. Chingford Non-Sunday is £70,880 and Chingford Semi Sundays are £74,218 on the old West Anglia contracts, but they are slowing phasing that out as you no longer get the choice of contract when transferring to Chingford.

I've never really paid it much attention before but looking at the diagrams, I think we actually get 8mins walking time at the end if passing back from GOBs, and 9mins if finishing up on High Level but that includes 1min handover. You dont get anything obviously finishing up in the depot but you are allocated 30mins for shunting which you never hit. Only time I can see we dont get it is if we leave it on the arrival road for the night shed driver.

At the start its 10min booking on and 15mins walking for Willesden. Gospel Oak, Stratford and Wembley C-Sidings are authorised BOPs too, so arrangements can be made to book on there with the Resource Manangers.

Euston/Stratford and Watford drivers leave trains on the blocks so their job finishes as soon as they stop their train. Willesden’s a bit different as the booking on and off point is not at the station (Well not officially anyway). Not sure about arrangements at New Cross and Chingford.

We get 10 minutes book off time/walking time at the end of the shift at NXG, not sure how much Wilesden get

As for booking on at NXG, we get 30 minutes, 10 minutes for notices & 20 minutes walking time

There seems to be some kind of timed form as part of this application which I’ve never come across before. Any ideas what this will contain?

Just a quick form to fill about yourself.
Name, ni number and about previous OPC testing. Takes a couple of minutes to answer rather than the 30 mins they say

Cheers bud. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something like ‘give an example of a time where you showed…’

Is it me or have they already pulled the job advert?
Yeah looks that way! That didn’t take long…
