A spotlog entry gives the shunter loco’s depot as TK, which a further search reveals as Kornwestheim, which is in the vicinity of Stuttgart, so perhaps the other end of the line to my previous guess, Stuttgart Hbf, but much earlier than the current building site!

Correct - as I said, 10 years ago (well, 2015 - it was already a Baustelle IIRC).

OK, try this. Slightly nondescript station, so the train itself may be a better clue

I assume this is an Ersatzzug on the RE5 (Koblenz-Wesel) somewhere in Nordrhein-Westfalen, but no idea which station.
It's not one of the major ones, but perhaps Leverkusen-Mitte? Further Googling suggests not.
Does the RE5 actually stop there? The lack of platform canopies suggests possibly not...

It’s not Leverkusen, and not RE5 Koblenz-Wesel either, even though the loco has that on the side.

It's lasting longer than expected. The train has been mentioned on these forums before, but I'll leave you all hanging before giving any more clues.

To be precise. The Ersatzzug was an RB48 I think, and the blocked out “M“ destination on the display (left) is Mönchengladbach.
