Your getting nothing out of me until much nearer August 14th.
Whenever I get time I will give a run down of all the shuttles we ran.
P.S to MB and DL should have been there at the end managed to wrestle 2196 off staff shuttle to work the 1615 Morecambe rounder. Was going to use the Cumberan but took a bribe off Mr Wong Min
It was then "stolen" for a while by AOM from Chesterfield.

Well what a day! As ever Morecambe did a good job putting on the open day and I hope everyone who went had a good time. I'll leave allocations for someone else to post (hehe) but I did manage to get some info from a SC employee shown below:

X12

Last year as we all know it was meant to be Gold Spec Versas but that was dropped. Then it was going to be brand new solos, but now it's going to be refurbished MANs from Morecambe but as ever this could change!

E300s, MANs and Preston

The E300s coming in will displace 4 MANs to Preston which will in turn displace 4 MANs from Preston to Glasgow for the X19.

ME will therefore retain 8 MANs, 3 or 4 of which will be used on the X12. I assume the other 4 will replace B10Bs/B10s.

B10Ls:

As Gez mentioned ME are trying to get 4 which will be to try and get as many B10s out as they can seeing as we are keeping some older MANs. However some may go to Cumbria but the whole thing's up in the air at moment.

Service Changes:

SC has gone under a network review which has now been put on hold until after the Olympics. However eventually the 3 will only run between Lancaster University and the City Centre with the 4 running between Lancaster Morecambe and Heysham.

The 2a will be cut and the 2 will run every 10 minutes.

Service 6 will be cut with service 6a doing the full route throughout the day.

Service X1 will be replaced with service 1 as mentioned before by KendalKing.

Services 5 and 55 will interwork and there was talk of the 49 interworking with a Carnforth Route as well but I can't remember what that was.

Service X55 (Sunday service) will be cut with Kendal running a Sunday 555 service.

Kendal with will be introducing a new Bike Route with 22104/08. Government funding has been provided to help this get started. However a route has not been decided as the MANs keep getting stuck...

Kendal's Scanias.

Kendal's new Scanias may turn up ahead of schedule in August rather then October.

I think that was it. If I've got anything wrong I'm sure Gez will correct me or Mbonwick seeing as he was there at the time lol.

Pictures from today will be up on my Flickr Shortly.

The Man's arent getting stuck on the route. They are looking at getting 14 to 16 bikes on the bus at one time with 2/3 return trips a day. It is only going to run 45 (IIRC) days a year which proves the problem what you do with the bus the rest of the year. At present the Enviros are due for September delivery. They are working on some interesting desgins for them to incorporate the Lake District too.

What I meant was that they had trouble when they tested them in some areas or at least that's what I was told. If they have decided on the route then it obviously wont be having trouble lol.

Good point about what to do with them for the rest of ear, stored like the OTs?

You would think some but it just seems a waste. Unless they went to the trouble of putting seats back in with it only running for a short period each year....?

Forgot to say either 34221 is due to arrive at Carlisle tommorow and be in service for Wed morning after MOT. 34220 & 34219 are also Carlisle bound anytime now. 34221 replaces 34048 with the other 2 replacing 33162 & 33076 it is thought. 34221 is listed on Period 1 fleet card but the others are not.

I couldn't find any Fleetcards yesterday, I tried looking for them although I thought they wern't out, So I spent my money on 2 or 3 burgers.

Plenty at the Stagecoach stall. I will wait until you all manage to get your hands on it and post the movements for your selfs! A quiet period though....

Not surprising really. Period 1 used to be just a tidy up of movements that got missed during the previous year.

Think I upset the guy selling stagecoach fleetbooks when I pointed out that they were out of date as soon as they were printed! The Stagecoach one still had all 14243-50 in!

I think it is 34221 due for Carlisle this weekend.

Would rather have 709's!

Aye I would like to see 40028 come back! But that won't happen.

Also, I don't know if this is an annual event or not, but on the 10th September there is an event on for Workington Heritage Trust.

It was OK today.

I'd go with that comment on it, rather than saying it was good! The only thing that came across as properly organised were the shuttle buses! Thought it was better organised in 2009.
The only bus that smelt like it had been cleaned for the event was Chorley's Scania. Carlisle's 34700 was nice and fresh inside too, nice tidy interior. Some attending vehicles were like something had died in them and was still needing cleaned up.

All in all I think we had a good weekend  Great having everyone in the same place at the same time! Also attended the RVPT Running Day on Morecambe Prom this afternoon, and had a bash on Lizzi to Carnforth and back. As mentioned by other members, it was a shame that nothing was sent from Lillyhall....

I think it was a shame we didn't do all our names in lights at once! (Well, I've only just had that idea)

Was nice to see you all, I'll get pics up shortly.

Have to say, for me the aim of the day was always the people, not the buses or pics!

I think the ride on Lizzi was the best part of being at Morecambe this afternoon! My first ride on a Volvo B6, and I can honestly say I'd rather have that over a mini Dart any day (33076 excluded :P). It would be nice to sample a few others, with Lizzi not going over 40mph. Still, provided an excellent ride :) It was also a nice change to see a smiling driver  Nice time back in Lancaster later on, nice few pictures in the sun for a change.

34700 gained new seat covers and got a good tidy up while it was off the road. Shame they did not do something about it's awful performance!

I went in the vehicles outside the site, 20133, 16662 and 20540 were out there.

My rides to the depot was GM buses Scania Palatine H466 GVM 1466 and coming back I had a ride in 338.

Overall, I thought it was better at Carlisle last year.

Great weekend had by me.

The open day was good, though it did look a little quiet at times with few people around. The shuttles were well organised with plenty of passengers on many of the journeys, a good variety of vehicles being used to please all tastes. Had a ride out to Lancaster and back with a couple of the heritage vehicles and then a couple of trips to Morecambe including a ride on Lizzy.

Also attended the RVPTs running day, helping to conduct on the Blackpool PD3 brought along by the Lancastrian Transport Trust. Also a good day with a good selection of vehicles being used on the services to Heysham and Carnforth.

Glad you had a good day! I think the weather was the only thing that I would have changed lol!

You know anything about stuff going into Preston? There's so many theories going around I could write a book lol.

I've seen the picture, thought it was a nice touch!

I meant all of us together, as a group.
Could have had "RailUK Forums Bus Crew 2011"
names underneath on scroll

20473 and 20994 are the B10M's of choice on extra X5's, probably the best 2 LL have. Wonder how many years it'll be until we get wheelchair accessible buses for it, seeing as the route is wheelchair accessible advertised!

Was rather shocked at the sensible choice! - shame 20913 didn't make it on to it today ;)
20436 would have been my other candidate, but only made it as far as Northside today.

The one week road closure of Newlands Lane South/Ashfield Road South began today, 50 and 51 being diverted along Newlands Lane and Hawkshead Avenue - 46B will probably do something similar to 51.

20436 has had greenroad fitted. It's on Sellafield's, showing "SL Ltd Contract".
16649 is 31 decker slot.
20945 on standard X5-X50's.
