@ls2270 do your sources tell you why FL is doing these on the Portsmouth Direct Line? I'd be surprised if it's for route learning, as the Portsmouth Direct isn't a route used by FL - their Chichester / Crawley paths go via the West Coastway. Unless it's for future hired in FL haulages, on Civil Engineer workings?

I don’t have any official information but my guess would be route learning for forthcoming NR Infrastructure trains.

Evening @ls2270 An update on this for info, there's a video on Rail Scene facebook today of 20901 & 20905 working yesterdays 0621 6J09 Bridgeton Yard to Penrith North Lakes, it seems one of the 20s hit problems so was terminated at Carlisle Upperby, it had been rostered to work 6J09 to Gresty Lane today but was cancelled
