Raileurope is proposing this itinerary for tomorrow. It seems ambitious! Will I be protected if missing the connection? (Travelling on Interrail)

12:27 Rennes13:59Paris Montparnasse

15:12 Paris Nord

16:30London St. Pancras International

Montparnasse to Paris Nord is direct on line 4, albeit a bit of a hike to get to the metro. No more than half an hour in total, so your train could be an hour late and you would still make the connection. Eurostar will put you on the next train if the TGV is even later, provided there is room

It's feasible, the thing that takes the most time is the travelator at Montparnasse but it's less than 20min on the metro itself.

Thank you - it’s a 63 minute connection including metro and check in time

Personally Id says its do-able but i wouldnt plan to do it, especially if your not familiar with the journey-there is absolutely no contingency if any sort of failure occurs.

Have you already got your Interrail reservation? If any train still has space for Interrailers, it may be that one - but you may be in for un unhappy shock

I notice that DB allow a minimum of 80min (including checkin) - I reckon that is safer, Seat61 advises 90min.

The only afternoon ES now available is the 1612 (only in 1st) anyway.

Thank you I have gone for the 1612. I think the Olympics has improved availability as regular tourists stay away

would I have get proof of TGV delay and queue to have it validated somewhere?
It's written in Railteam terms

If you miss an international high-speed connection because your train was cancelled or delayed, we’ll make sure you’re on the next available departure – at no extra cost.

The only condition is you have to leave from the same station as originally planned. We’ll take care of the rest.

So whether you arrive delayed in Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam, we’ll replace your onward ticket free of charge. Just speak to a member of staff at info points in the station to get your journey moving again.

You can also access real-time data about your journey via your mobile phone. If you’re a member of the loyalty programme and travelling on an international ticket, you can take advantage of our frequent traveller lounges.

Ideally, you would get your ticket stamped with the special HOTNAT (hop on the next available train) stamp directly from the train manager in the TGV (they are usually located in one of the 1st class coaches, near to the cafe car, but you can usually ask the bar attendant for them if you don't find them) by explaining you will miss your Eurostar connexion, but I doubt most train managers on this route hold it. But you should try it either way.

Since e-tickets are the norm now, I'm pretty sure you won't have any issue with taking a picture of the (green) arrival boards mentioning the train number and the delay or a screenshot of the SNCF connect app showing the delay
You can access the arrival board of any station on the SNCF Connect app home screen and at https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/fr/gares-services

Thank you. I fear that 63 minute is an “illegal” connection and wouldn’t be accepted but maybe that’s a UK concept

If the connection is offered and sold as a single transaction by a authorized retailer (Which RailEurope are) you are covered anyway. And any delay of the TGV would entitle you to HOTNAT

It is very tight (73min not 63 BTW) but Rail Europe offers it, and indeed connections of 68min on other dates.
I wonder if the transfer time (shorter than Gare de Lyon) reflects the relatively easy access Metro-Eurostar at Nord?

Rail Europe seems to be very much more liberal with the connection times. SNCF Connect only offers 1h50 and above tomorrow.

You will make it before the 30min check-in cutoff

Thank you. My impression is that the 30 minutes at Eurostar is not taken too seriously (compared to heathrow’s 35 minute conformance for example)
