The Corsa, especially the older models, are absolutely terrible cars, especially if you're tall. Why young males seem to like them is beyond me. The Fiesta was/is a much better car.

Being banned for speeding keeps coming up a lot on here. I'd much rather ban the drivers who are Unsafe at any speed, such as tailgating, cutting up, pulling out in front of Cyclists and Motorcyclists. (in which i do ride an pushbike and use it on the roads and it is my biggest pet hate as they don't 'see' you and you have to take avioding action, also i do follow the road laws and stop at lights)
Also people who drive far to slow on any form of road such as doing 40mph on national speed limit road, dual carriage ways and motorways. As they are the ones who are more likely to cause accidents. and also other stupid things, i would have banned one of my friends multiple times by now and is the one i refuse to go in a car with as she is so un-safe to me.
As i said earlier i don't drive but do hold a full license. The reason i don't drive is due to fully comp insurance costs on any form of car for a person of my age.

Ive had two Vectra SRi's, a 2000 W-reg and i now have an 08 reg Vectra SRi, i don't think they deserve the stick they get, there good cars........ they both do 120mph!

I notice this as well.
Ferrari drivers, Lamborghini drivers, Porsche drivers.....all in lane three!
I don't understand. Really.
It amuses me that there are people who drive such cars in town doing circuits sitting in traffic burning their clutches out!
If I had one (well Merc SLS preferably) I'd be heading for the alps with this on the stereo

The Nova would do an indicated 120mph around town. For the last couple of weeks I had it, the speedo was unreliable (would make a horrible noise and claim that the tractor in front was doing 70mph) but by that point I'd got enough money for the Polo
I think Vauxhall had improved loads by 2000! We're (I'm) talking about the early 1990s here (and late 80s).
Back then, they made cars that didn't/couldn't take corners, but I suppose they helped wipe out the worst of the boy racers.

A-ha!!!! I knew there was a reason you kept wading into this thread complaining about the "muchos machismo" and "willy waving" when talking about manual gearboxes. You're one of the people who can't drive a manual!
From reading your post and your apparent surprise at finding the supercars in the slow lane and the Citroens in the "fast one", it seems you've confused which lane is which. Lane 1 is the "slow lane", and lane 3 on a three lane motorway is the "fast one", not that they should be referred to as such.
The Corsa is a classic! I'd love to give one a thrashing down the A1(M), I've seen so many owners do the same!
Watch out for powder-blue 4-door ones. She's nearly 60, but drives like Rene Arnoux on one of his madder days.

I'll take a Lamborghini. I would like to say that I'd blast it down the motorway, but because I don't want to be the source of another fifty pages of safety debate and the return of the question 'Does Zoe Drive' I'll just do the same and head for the Alps as well!

I have been in a Prsche Turbo that did 120 on the M27! The fastest I have ever driven was about 110 in my daughter's Honda Jazz on the Autobahn..five-up!

Not me but been faster once on the 4 lane section of the M6 South approaching Corley services. Not big or clever mind you

If she has im guessing it was'nt in a car that belonged to a student with a manual gearbox at 120mph......... but just in case she does'nt confirm it, i'll ask the secretary of state!

I haven't - Been in a van going 115 on the A30 though (that was scary - I wasn't driving BTW)
Which part of the A30? I hope it wasn't the non-trunk section east of the A303(T) junction.

I've done over a ton in a Ford Ka on level road. It's quite a thrill! (being that close to death that is)
The old model is a good car. I don't like the new one, and neither do the critics.
The original Ka (launched in 96 or 98?) was a great car, creating a whole new market for a small car that didn't have much competition. Ford feared it would impact Fiesta sales, but it didn't at all.
The new car now seems to have grown in size, just like all small cars, and I guess it's because people expect more from even a basic car. They want nice interiors, satnav, a decent audio system, Bluetooth, every safety feature, ESP etc etc etc.
But, I am sure there are people who still want a small, cheap, car that doesn't protect them from everything. When you see an old Mini (very rare these days; I guess most rusted away) they look so out of place. Yet, I can remember racing around in an old 1275 GT years ago. Now I look at think 'How would I even get into this thing?'!
The new Fiesta is big too, and the Focus keeps growing - as does the Mondeo. I suppose the Ka will eventually become Focus sized and the Mondeo will require a LGV license!

Lovely cars - I had a Yreg Corsa SRI for 5 years and it was brilliant . . dunno what made me get rid of it really. See lots about here in Lincoln still. Like the new VXR one but too pricey for me.
