Trivia: Most mileage in a day?

A single Avanti Pendolino did 1,610 miles in a 21 hour period yesterday. Starting with the 04:28 from Glasgow to London, 09:30 return, 14:34 back to London and 19:30 return, arriving into Glasgow just after midnight.

It's not a booked diagram however, as it got unit swapped back onto the Glasgow services. But this must be the most any unit has done in a 24 hour period in the UK, excluding Eurostar services perhaps.

Does anyone know of anything that can beat this? It doesn't have to be an official diagram of course, can include rare one-off's like the above.

I can’t imagine any Eurostar sets managing to achieve that level of mileage in the UK!

I don’t think their daily mileage across all four countries would be that impressive given how long their dwell time at major termini is.
