Do the locos provide power for the kitchen refrigerators? Maybe why they remain running.

That would make sense. I’m sure I remember shore power being installed at Swansea but I’ve never seen it used.

The Sunday diagrams only have 1 x return trip. On weekdays it can be two return trips. So on Sundays the fuel is less of a concern providing it leaves the depot full.

HD02 hit the bucket at Abergavenny today, now due to head empty to Canton. HD06 running fine as well, zoomed pass Llanharan completely fine. Would HD03 swap into the Crewe diagram tomorrow supposing the loco swap is done?
Unlikely, the one that was due to go onto HD03 was the one that's taking HD02 back to Canton.
Likely the 4:54 from Crewe or 6:27 from Manchester will be a unit and one of the sets at Canton used for the rest of the diagram.
Edit, HD03 now has 67008 on it but that's swapped off HD01.

Saw 67015 coupled to a DVT at Newport at 12:45 today, any idea what set this is and why?

Correct.
Whole lot now quarantined on Canton after brakes dragging on 67022 whilst being dragged back. Not the most successful recovery!
Not done the world of good for availability either with the loss of 2 locos and a set all at once. HD01 is currently having chlorination of the tanks at Crewe and with HD04 and 05 on exams that only leaves HD03/06/07 active.

The batteries on the carriages aren't particularly good at keeping anything up, or starting again so they're kept live as much as possible.
Also, very leaky, so heaters need to be on most of the time to stop it raining on the inside.
Wasn't 67022 the one stranded at Bangor sidings for quite some time after dragging brakes?

Do we know yet which weekend diagrams may be 67s?
Should be 4 out Saturday and 2 out Sunday. Availability looks pretty good as it stands with 6 Available sets on Saturday and 4 on Sunday.
As it stands the plan is:
Tonight HD03 swaps diagrams and forms 17:14 Holyhead
67020+HD04 work 16:49 Cardiff to Crewe.
Saturday:
67025+HD01: 1V34 1W57 1V46 1W65
67015+HD02: Spare on Canton
67008+HD03: Spare at Holyhead
67020+HD04: 1V39 (from Crewe may swap on 1W13 instead) 1W63
67012+HD05: exam/5+2 lengthening at Crewe
67014+HD06: 1V31 1W61 1V62
67013+HD07 1W11 1V37 1W59 1V54
Sunday then planned for HD04 on the Crewe-Crewe diagram and HD06 on the Canton-Canton

HD04 having plenty of diagram swapping around today, 1V18 as far as Cardiff later, then moves onto 1W63 Milford to Manchester from Cardiff to end up at Crewe, any idea why though?

Makes it the first Mk4 to call at Alderley Edge in both directions though, so a little something for the history books!
Yes, the short of it is that there will be a capacity issue at Canton due to 756 testing so they want the set to end at Crewe.
It was requested to come out at 16:10 on 1V18 but with no available unit to swap it then a busy service would be cancelled so they’ve done some swapping to keep things running a bit more smoothly.
It also nicely balances things for tomorrow allowing all 4 diagrams covered all day and still have HD02 spare on Canton. If 04 had finished at Canton tonight one of the Crewe starts wouldn't have been covered in the morning.
Ahh! A nice little bonus too. I still think it’s a bit of a shame that the spare set can’t cover the Swansea diagram when it’s available given the state of things with 197’s.
When is HD05 due back into service ? You’ve probably already said but I can’t remember or see it further up now. It might be that newborn sleep deprivation going on
It is really, the issue is where preps etc are done and Crew signing it on jobs which aren't booked. There's also work undertaken when they're spare too, deep cleans etc which otherwise struggle to be done.Ahh! A nice little bonus too. I'm not totally sure, although judging by the time the rest were out I'd have thought late this week or early next for it's test run.

To be fair I had ‘assumed’ (always dangerous) that with it being planned to be MK4 that any crew would naturally have MK4 competency. But I suppose with it not being booked MK4 crews that have did their MK4 or 67/DVT traction courses could be allocated to it.
Ahh thanks both. Not too much longer now then. Feels like a long time ago now back from when it seemed impossible that even 1 set was ever going to get its 5th coach and we would never get the project completed haha!

HD01 Will be coming out later today.
Very long term absentees 67017 and 67010 should be heading back to TfW in the Next day or two after testing. 010 is planned to be on HD06 whilst it undergoes an exam and 017 should head to Canton to act as recovery loco. In the meantime, 67023 will be hired from Colas and used as the recovery loco and based in the Shrewsbury area to cover both ends of the network.
Set wise, HD05 is now back from Crewe ETD after tyre turning and is undergoing final testing and finishing before heading back out as the final 5 car. HD06 is now in for its heavy exam and should be the final set to have its SV mods with improved ventilation and air con in the kitchen vehicle. As 06 and 05 are now both on exam at Crewe, until 05 is released, HD02 is now temporarily stored at Holyhead.
As HD02 is now stored, 1V91 from Holyhead will be a unit tomorrow with 67014+HD01 planned to pick up the diagram from the 10:52 Cardiff to Manchester
Edit- it will now work the 08:49 from Cardiff replacing 67020+HD04 which failed earlier with low power caused by a faulty traction motor.
Set wise, HD05 is now back from Crewe ETD after tyre turning and is undergoing final testing and finishing before heading back out as the final 5 car. HD06 is now in for its heavy exam and should be the final set to have its SV mods with improved ventilation and air con in the kitchen vehicle. As 06 and 05 are now both on exam at Crewe, until 05 is released, HD02 is now temporarily stored at Holyhead.

That's excellent news! The end of the 5 car project can truely now be seen, when 1 year ago we were struggling to get HD03 back in! Also the return of those 67s will be well accepted, 67029 is still going to be a long term absentee now correct? Are we saying a few days left until HD05 is out and about? Will want to catch it in it's 5 coach black set form, especially with the DVT livery!
Not seen anything else on 016 other than it's still at Toton but unsure where it's upto.

029 still required new wheelsets I believe, I'm under the impression that when the sales go through 029 will receive the wheelsets off 67026 but plans may have changed as that was a while ago now!
HD05 shouldn't be too long now, the 5 car is in, the exam is complete and it's been tyre turned so it's just a few outstanding repairs and a test run before it's back out.

Update:
After the earlier failure of 67020, 67015 is now on HD04 and is planned to go out of Crewe at 13:30, 67010 will now head to Canton tomorrow to act as the recovery loco rather than going onto HD06. 67017 is planned to head from Crewe to Holyhead late afternoon today to go onto HD02 which will now have an exam at Holyhead.
