Yeah I think it went okay. Didn't ask about the life saving rules and they only asked about half of the NTS too.

They did ask about notice period, which could be a good sign. They did take the time to answer my questions even after the interview ran over too. That could just be procedure though.
The safety vision question was dropped a while ago. The question about notice periods at the end is standard, along with asking about whether you have holidays booked. The actual time allocated to interviews is longer than is indicated to candidates, so it won't really have overrun.

Kind of disappointing to hear. Maybe it didn't go as well I thought then.

Waiting game I guess.
Thanks for the info!

I have been shortlisted for face to face interview in a few weeks and have to complete the pre-interview video assessment prior to this.

Could anybody shed some light on what to expect for this? Thanks

Got my email today to say I wasnt successful but have passed the online tests and interview to there standards so been put on a reserve list ah well maybe next time
Hi Mate, I was in the same situation and got the same email in February and they were back in touch and offered a post 2 weeks ago (3 months later) so I have started the onboarding process, so keep positive as you don’t really see what’s going on behind the scenes, they could be waiting for posts to open up as people leaving have taken longer than expected etc. but it’s never nice to feel you have failed but you haven’t just keep positive it will happen

You'll be presented with a series of scenarios, each one requires an answer about what you'd do, how you'd handle it etc. Fairly straightforward.

You'll get a minute or two to think about your response and then another few minutes to answer the question. Once you provide your answer there's no re doing it so take your time and think carefully about what you're going to say. Make sure your sound is working properly beforehand and camera is positioned to capture your face.

Think about each scenario and potential solution from a safety perspective and you'll be absolutely fine mate.

Best of luck to you.

If i remember correctly you get a number of minutes after hearing the scenarios to think about your response before you have to record it , I made brief notes to ensure I didn't miss anything that I wanted to say .

Also think about how you are communicating , make sure that what you are saying is accurate and clear , and dont waffle or convey unnecessary information .They arent looking for you to know the correct use of language or anything but just that you can communicate effectively .

Long time lurker first time poster here.

Finally got my start date for G7 signaller role @TVSC.

Just seeing if there is anyone else starting at that location at a similar time, been given a start date at the end of October with IST commencing on the 11th November although no location confirmed as of yet so guessing that date could change?

I understand it can be a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question .. But from experience, how soon after being given your verbal offers was it before you received your start date and medical date?

Yes trying to, It was the initial email, caught me off guard. Still pleased about the reserve list though.

I did search the thread and found quite a few people had been offered places after being on the reserve list. (Probably just jinxed myself)

How long have you been on the list?

Hello all, is anyone here based in Edinburgh? Noticed there was 8x grade 9 positions up internally and was wondering why so many were advertised at once, maybe due to new fatigue rosters coming in? Thanks in advance.

Correct understaffed from what I've heard.
I know someone on reserve list for a G9 in Edinburgh, so not sure why they would advertise if they have reserve pool candidates.

Yeah they both went okay. Passed both, been put as the reserve candidate.

Good experience, enjoyed both. Interview was quite laid back.
Could you elaborate more on interview please, what sort of questions were asked and how long was it, was it panel or 1 to 1. Thanks

Well that's good news. Fingers crossed you get a phone call sooner rather than later.

I went back a few pages, and read that someone was told they were unsuccessful and put on the reserve list on a Thursday. They then got a phone call on the Friday offering them a job.

Hello, I've applied for a grade 3 signaller role and have been invited to the assesment centre for an interview. I confirmed the time slot which was 09:30 to 10:30. However, after looking online some people say the assesment centre involves more than just an interview and has a number of exercises to complete, therefore I'd assume it would be longer than an hour. Just wondering if anyone has been recently and is this the case or will it just be an interview?

Can someone please give me information about London Liverpool St Signal box.

I am aware they have both G8 and G9 workstation.

Need to know the area of control by both grades and which TOC's operate within that area.

Roster pattern if possible. I believe it's 12hrs

Thanks.

Hi, where have you applied for?

I had mine recently and there wasn't any exercises. Was Purely an interview, with 2 people. 1 was asking questions, whilst the other took notes. 11:00 to 12:15. Was meant to be an hour.

Cheers,
Aidan
