Cheers for the gen, do you or anyone else in the forum know the full list of 67s chiltern will be using on a regular basis, ie which numbers.

Will be the ex-WSMR ones plus 67001 most likely.

Great sight at Marylebone this morning 3 loco hauled (Cl 67's - WSMR livery) facing the buffers at the same time - this should happen each weekday assuming they are running to time. I travelled in behind 67013 Dyfrbont Pontcysyllte - still in WSMR livery but now devoide of Wrexham & Shropshire Logo as were all the coaches & DVT in the set.

Just out of interest, is there a normal orientation for the sets now? Last time I was at Marylebone (during the WSMR period), the locos seemed to be at one end or the other at random. Was there actually a pattern that I just failed to see or wasn't working properly that day?

From what I've seen, the locos appear to be at the south end of trains, closest to the bufferstops at Marylebone.

Of course, that may simply be coincidence, as I haven't been there that often recently.

As far as I know all sets have the class 67 on the London end of the train.

They are all loco at the south end and DVT at the north end, its a noise abatement thing as far as I am aware because being formed like this keeps the locomotives further from where the houses are close to the line at Wembley Depot and where the flats are close to the platforms at Marylebone.
The radiator/#2 cab end is almost always the end driven from too. I have no idea why.

You can extremely cheap AP tickets on some of these services - I paid £3.30 (YP discount so about £5 normally) for a trip on the 0820 MYB - BMO last week. The 1555 BMO - MYB also has similarly discounted tickets so if you live in London you can go on a comfortable day trip to Birmingham for about £10.

In WSMR days the loco position was not consistent - not all the sets were formed in the same way and in fact the formation of each set moved around.

I travel twice most days, (in the old first class whenever possible), on the Chiltern services and currently all the sets are formed with the Cl 67 at the London end of the train. At 08:17 assuming they are on time there are briefly 3 Cl 67's facing the buffers at Marylebone - I am waiting for the day when they are on 3 adjoining platforms for a picture!

Currently the locos are all ex WSMR liveried and named - 67001 has left the scene. Incidently 67010 was also originally used by and in the livery of WSMR but it disappeared well before their services finished - anybody know where it went?

No gen on where 67010 is, but I would like to see it return to use as I still need it! 67012 and 67015 still carry WSMR branding, although the coaching stock still carries a limited amount too.

Right, gen on workings from yesterday:

67012 worked 1320 London to Birmingham and 1555 Birmingham to London

67014 worked through Old Hill around 1235 heading to Stourbridge Junction on a load 3 (plus 82301), where it stayed all afternoon and evening (it was still there at 1909)

67015 worked 0820 London to Birmingham and 1055 Birmingham to London

67013 is assumed to have been on the Banbury diagram, but not seen so cannot confirm.

Only 67010,14 and 15 still have Wrexham & Shropshire branding
67010 has been stored at Crewe since at least August 2010 with severe engine vibrations
Other gen is correct 12 and 15 on the Birmingham sets,13 on the Banbury set and 14 on the training set

Bit harsh to say it was duff gen when it was, what, just 67012 where I was mistaken? I know it was definitely on 67015, admittedly I didn't look too carefully at 67012 as I was more interested in making sure I got back to Moor Street before the off-peak restrictions kicked in. Which I did, just!

Those of you using the 'old' first class, be advised that Chiltern are likely to be bringing in sime kind of Business Class at the September timetable change.

Details still being worked out, but I ecpect some kind of on-train upgrade, in the region of £20 one-way to travel in those coaches!

67018 was on the 0820 today.. The red one in DB livery. A new one on the fleet, or just maintenance cover? There was a 67 in wembley lmd but I didn't see which.
