There is some discussion in the Newport Transport thread which I think may be of wider interest.
Back in the days of manual scheduling it must have been easier to take the M-F plan and delete early morning and peak trips but in these days of detailed ridership data and computers is it a good idea to produce a different Saturday timetable? Are passengers confused by different timetables on Saturdays as well as Sundays?Saturday service can be reduced in a logical way, such as a few 'NS' (Not Saturday) trips. You don't rewrite a whole timetable. Essentially, try not to make huge cuts to Saturdays, if you must, do it in a way that is still passenger friendly and doesn't make a complete mess for passengers.
