France-Spain cross border tickets

Struggling to find any reliable info on cross border ticketing at the moment.

Planning to go from Biarritz-San Sebastian and back, but SNCF will only sell a ticket to Hendaye, and Renfe only from Irun to San Sebastián, but nothing that bridges the gap?

Any help appreciated

There are no Mainline trains across the border.
You need to use Euskotren which leaves from the station forecourt at Hendaye. Tickets, which are very cheap, can be obtained from machines or the ticket office at Hendaye Euskotren station.
You can buy a PassBask from SNCF machines or the ticket office at Bayonne. You will however need to exchange this at Hendaye Euskotren station to obtain a (free) ticket for the Euskotren section.

Euskotren, runs every 30 minutes.
Timetables now also appear in the DB planner. If you only want to go to Donostia/San Sebastian, then it's usually faster just to stay on the train and not change to RENFE in Irún.

There's also a ticket machine in the SNCF station, to the right of the exit in the main hall. That one never has a queue.

It's a lovely trip I've done many times before. As stated above, Euskotren from Hendaye to San Sebastian is required. Euskotren is a metro service, but ample space for baggage. At Hendaye, the stations are no more than 100 meters apart. The better news is the Euskotren station in San Sebastian is much better located for the older part of town, so you may find when you get off your a lot closer to your hotel if you are staying there.
