During the adverts, I had a quick look at RA diagrams. 83 on night duty. Around 05.00, in order 87, 82, 84, 81, 83 (back), 80, 86... At 07.55 , 99 appeared. I don't think 85 and 88 are on the road, so had 99 not been available or any spare Mango bus, you get missed diagrams. Looks like the 07.35 is the 8th diagram, and 99 covering the 9th. Seems to suggest the 07.35 and 07.55 maybe the diagrams least likely to run.
Ah, a while ago when 827 was still running I had seen it running out of service into derby bus station with red arrow on the blind. I had hope that it would be the 7.35 trip...However it was the 7.55. 99 seems like its only operating in the morning which I would have it out all day, a free vehicle for them to run and they are only utilizing it for a few hours isn't smart. On Saturday when I got on it, it was nice very smooth that it made me feel sick as well as not being able to see where we are out the front window whereas the plaxtons have massive front windows that you can see out when your sat at the back. Then I was back in derby leaving the bus station around 3pm and it was sat at the bus station on the bit of road next to the old car park. I get it has to have the driver and the extra staff, maybe thats why its not being fully utilized

Ah, poor 827, painted bright red and often dead. Actually the use of 99 in the morning could be quite clever. Get people from A to B paying full fare or ZigZag. When they come home, they have to make do with less vehicles, but you don't lose revenue. Maybe only certain drivers have been type trained. Where are we now? About half way through the loan.

Barnsley...
I do wish people would not say things that make me laugh. There is always the chance TM Travel could get them to work, but they probably all need new engines, except for 102 which should almost have one by now. Maybe TM Travel would prefer Volvos...

I honestly think 827 is better off at sutton or somewhere else so derby can have some reliable vehicles for once. I think a few drivers have been trained on it, I have only seen it a few times and been on it once though so I couldn't say if drivers are going on it once and not again or keep going on it.

I thought 826 (currently with Notts and Derby) and 827 were supposed to be for V3, replacing Solos. I thought buses were only unreliable when they came to Derby, which is why 741 had to leave for Nottingham. Someone asked me what I thought was the most reliable bus at Derby. None .

Yeah the versa were suppose to replace the solos, yet at the moment I think they are covering allocation changes and stuff. I ain't complaining though the longer there's solos the better

Probably, unfortunately. Over the last few years though local operators have chosen Yutongs, and have heard nothing bad about them. At least if they get ADLs they won't be able to use the 'batteries worn out' excuse as most electric buses have to be replaced/have their batteries replaced after 8-10 years!

Unless they decide to go for the older E200 EVs (known for being a fire hazard), the next generation of E200EV will not even be available to purchase for another year at least, and they might only have a certain amount of time to spend the government grant. One thing I can't take away from the 'next generation' of ADL, are the looks of them. Imo, they look pretty nice, especially the fronts!
Let's just hope that they have the sense to go for the best available.
At present, the Yutongs seem to be way ahead for quality, performance and reliability - certainly a better vehicle than the current Wright/ADL versions.

Langley Mill I think...Could use them to help out on the Rainbow One, H1, 32 group and all sorts of routes. Replace some Solos. ;)
472, and 473 are on the 32 lot most of the times. 472 has disappeared now though. I can't really see the versa's going on 32 lots, in the year I have gotten on 32 I have been on 1 versa. Theres been a few times its been allocated and I haven't gotten it but its not many. Fairly sure they would use volvos before versa's. H1 I could see it being used on since its already got a versa with the same engine and Rainbow one has had 820 on so they are definately willing to use it on that and my15. Maybe Ilkeston flyer would get a use out of them before the mmc's get here however after I can't see versa's getting allocated as they would have more spare mmcs at the depot

It has a tracking fault and is (should be) out all day, it just stops tracking at around 11 for no apparent reason every day

There is me wondering where Enviros 101 to 106 might end up...
Another plausible candidate for the 9. I do wonder if at some point Trentbarton will also want to replace the Volvos on the Keyworth, Calverton, Swift or Comet or the Versas of the my15. In my opinion, though, the last three seem the most far-fetched.
Interestingly, a service update for the Kinchbus 2 regarding a road closure in Sileby wound up being posted on Trentbarton's website rather than Kinchbus's:
Heathcote Drive, Sileby

On 30 and 31 May there will be road closures taking place on Heathcote Drive in Sileby affecting Kinchbus 2.

During this time we will be missing the following stops:

Swan Street (Highgate Road)
Storer Close
Northill Close
Gibson Road
Newbold Close
Collingwood Drive
Heathcote Drive

Please allow extra time for your journey.
Also, 205 is tracking on the Skylink Express.

Kinchbus and Notts and Derby's route timetables and ticket prices are all over trentbarton's website so it doesn't surprise me. Also, Kinch and Trent's sites are practically the same with some colour differences.

After some deliberation, it has been decided that it's time to bring this thread to a close.

There are a few reasons:

  • The topic "Nottingham & Derbyshire Bus News" is very broad and covers a fairly large geographic area, as well as multiple bus operators. This hadn't been an issue until recently, but we've had quite a few new members join the forum and the thread has become much busier than it was before.
  • It's becoming increasingly difficult to follow the various goings-on. We essentially have a collection of parallel discussions and this is unsustainable in the long run.
  • Finally, anyone from anywhere in the world should be able to read the thread and be able to make sense of it. Unfortunately there are too many references to various bus services without any clarification as to which company or companies run them. Please do not assume that everyone will know what you're talking about.

If anyone wishes to continue discussing any Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire operators and their services, please start a new thread for that subject and for that subject only. Please DO NOT start a new thread unless you actually have something meaningful to discuss!
