I've noticed that 1st class Advance fares for EMR to GWR through journeys don't exist, only Standard class priced tiers are shown in BRfares.com.
Anyone know why they don't exist ?

They do exist where there is commercial need for them.

First class capacity is already becoming a fairly finite resource on some operators, and the fact is that they don't need Advance fares to fill those seats / meet the needs of the market.

In this case, you essentially need GWR and EMR to reach a mutually acceptable commercial agreement on how revenue would be apportioned and how many seats can be made available at a certain fare point / tier - given both have different parent owning groups - it is likely that the revenue both parties would want from a first class ticket ultimately is around the price of the flexible fares that already exist or such a small number of seats would be made available, that the fares aren't really useable.

It is possible to get GWR and EMR first class itineraries to Luton/ Bedford.

Those flows to GWR land are owned by GWR rather than EMR, whereas EMR price the flows to GWR land involving Wellingborough and stations further north.

I don't think EMR have any First Class advance tickets for journeys via London St Pancras on another operator do they? I can see some to Heathrow Rail admittedly but that's it?

Or you just use the Forum's site, Trainsplit or even Trainline, and get a split. Not really worth worrying about.

Some flows have cheaper fares for the whole journey than 1 single leg !!
Then the forum's site will offer those, if they are cheaper than splitting.

I'd advise against advertising details of journeys which are cheaper than shorter journeys, though; once they get advertised, pricing managers tend to shut these down by increasing the cost of the cheaper tickets.

Do you think they always exist where it would be commercially advantageous to have them?

Do you have any examples of this (on long distance TOCs)?

I'm not really convinced by this theory.
