The 2011 event will feature:
37 294 on a 5 coach set
NCB No.38 on a 4 coach set
D.5600 and 31 119 Top and Tailing a 4-coach set, one under power at any one time, effectively one 31 with 7 coaches!
47 004 will not be in service as there has not been time to rectify some of the faults that were identified last time it ran. Work has centred on the Class 14 and the Class 37.

All trains run full line, passing at Embsay and Stoneacre.

Glad i'm up there for this :D on the Sunday

LOL no it seems as though the EBAR diesel galas have become a bit rubbish. Went to the first 4, haven't returned - just the same locos, nothing diefferent whatsoever...

New Railway for me, different Loco's to be sampled, hopefully some nice photo's to get :) looking forward to it.

I quite enjoy them to be honest. Remember the Embsay railway is still very new to the diesel gala world. Last couple have been same locos granted. But in the past, they have had a 20, 24 and 33. Last year was the 1st year where there wasnt new loco, though it gave afew the chance to have a decent run behind 37294 which had failed on the sunday the previous year.

I know the chap who plans the diesel gala and Ive never been dissapointed.

I believe a visiting loco was planned for the 2010 gala, but the railway wasnt prepared to pay for the transport costs, understandable as the country was still in recession then. Also the line dosent yet have a mainline connection, so any visitor has to be brought in by road.

But putting a commercial hat on will anything different make money? Example, bring in 98765 from the XYZ railway, cost £4,000 (which is a pretty realistic price for 2 road moves). To justify its move, it would need 400 more visitors paying £10 each just to cover its costs - never mind increase the profit.
