Just a quick question,

Does any one know what Mon ~ Fri early evening trains from Derby to Crewe are 158's.

Got to make this journey and dont fancy it on a 153 if I can help it.

Many Thanks.

From what I've seen at Stoke, it seems to be the last Derby - Crewe journey each day that's a 158. And presumably then the first Crewe- Derby of the following day?

That said, when I've been through Crewe fairly late on, I've seen EM 153s parked up for the evening. So it may well be the last Crewe - Derby that's got the 158 on it :p

Not sure if this is just an occasional thing, or regular, but I've seen them during the mid afternoon before on the 1534 from Stoke towards Crewe, something like that anyway.

I've used a 3-car 158+153 set on this route, but that was only one day for the Uttoxeter Races. It was still packed!

Considering a move to Memphis
1742 off DY is booked a 158.

Can confirm that. It's the unit which runs the 1352 Liverpool - Nottingham. Mind you service is still timed for 153/6, so a 158 can catch up a good 10 minutes late departure from Derby.

Units are usually strengthened for Uttoxeter races. 2 x 153 or 156 or 158
