Hi All,
I don't know if this has been brought up before but while sat on my local waiting for the train to the Dentist a Northern class 150 and London Midland 153 went through Non-Stop towards Manchester Victoria.
I think it was 153336.
Does Anyone know when it arrived?
Is it based at Newton Heath Or Neville Hill?
Is it Staying?

Officially allocated to Neville Hill where the rest of the 153s are based although it may do overnighters for example at the Heath. It can't work on its own because it ain't got a suitable ramp as LM sent it up north with a Turbostar ramp. The unit is 153366

In which case - hasn't NR got a spare 153 ramp available?

Why on earth did LM provide it to Northern with a 170 ramp in the first place anyway? Just to be difficult?

Slightly incorrect but correct ballpark, its due to LM using the luggage rack to store the ramp which Northern weren't happy with so it must work in multiple

The 2 x 153s with Northern are meant to be going back to LM tomorrow. Then 2 x 153s are meant to be going onto summer hire to FGW on Saturday.

I think that's meant to read the 2 153's (354 & 364) with National Express are going back to Tyseley tomorrow. They were seen at Crown Point earlier on today having their RETB radio's taken out. (I think I got that right).

Quite right. 153354 & 153366 are up there with NXEA & should be back to LM tomorrow. 153354 is stabled at Crown Point, 153366 is running somewhere between Leeds & Manchester.

153325 & 153333 should be stabling at Worcester Shrub Hill on Friday night ready for transfer to FGW (Bristol initially) on Saturday.

so is the 156 repaired then?

No mate. 156417 is still very much poorly and nothing apart from stripping it has been done. I don't know all the ins and out, but all I've heard is that theres still arguments going on about who's going to pay for the repairs between Insurance companies. Also, i heard the chassis is cracked in 3 places.

I don't know if this will leave NX with a DMU shortage as with the December timetable change, there were changes made to the DMU diagrams so they were better utilised. (They don't go further south than Ipswich - except for 1 3 car 170 which stables at Colchester at night- and the unit to do the famous Sudbury branch where 156417 had it's collision).

Speaking of 153325...

Which One?

or

But as far as i can see, it was always a Central unit!

It's a Mystery!

(and before someone answers, yep, its the LM one!)

The Northern liveried pic can’t be right. There’s clearly something amiss in Northern land (Or a Photoshop job afoot).

Although I cannot read it properly the side number doesn't appear to end in a 5 either.

Definitely a LM unit at that time though as there is a picture of 153325 on Locoscene working the Stourbridge shuttle on 26/05/2009.

153325 has always been a Central Trains unit based at Tyseley, the picture showing 153325 at Knaresborough in Northern livery is a fotoshopped picture of 153352 which is a Northern unit, so someone has swopped the 5 and the 2 around, i only reason i know is 153352 has the covers bolted on to the snowplough covering the warning horns, and i have travelled on 153352 numerous times and i am a great fan of 153 units.

There are cyclical diagrams off Neville Hill, booked for 155+153 3 cars - 2 sets on Leeds - Knaresborough, and a number of sets on Selby - Wakefield Westgate via Brighouse and Leeds - Man Vic diagrams (which are cyclical amongst themselves in any case). This means that though quite a few outstable, they all get to Neville Hill every 2-3 days.

See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULdJ7K3G1qU for 153366 seen at Burley Park on 2C54 1759 Leeds - Knaresborough on 17/05/11. Tasty.
