Hello all. I've been struggling to keep track of the current state of the fleet changes and tenders out for the various TOCs, and thought it might be useful to have a master thread (in the same vein as the new stations thread) to keep a track of the current and expected tenders, with links to all the various threads. I am not envisaging this to become a long discussion thread in and of itself, and instead to become more of a reference point.
Please also let me know if I have anything wrong, and I'll try and keep it as up to date as possible
NOTE 1:
There was an announcement in July 2025 of a potential combined order of units to replace the BR era units at Chiltern, GWR and SWR, although I have not added that to the table until further information has been released.
NOTE 2:
We now know that the HS2 units will be classified as number 895. However, due to the swirling uncertainty surrounding HS2, up to and including how it interacts with the existing WCML services, these will not be included in the table until such time as we have a definitive number of trains on order, an outline specification, and/or some degree of certainty of how the HS2 services will be run. The HS2 page has an announcement that the 895 specification will be previewed at Derby.
For posterity, I am quoting post 24 here, which outlines the status of the Chiltern tenders
"Chiltern actually have four potential tenders underway, though there's no guarantee of all (or any) of them going ahead:
