Sinfin tanks running tonight . Just left Falkirk Grahamston . Unsure of loco but usually a 56 . DK

Can anyone in the know explain why this is seekingly routed the long way round instead of the original more direct route down theWCML turning off at Crewe and then using North Staffs line via Stoke & Uttoxeter? Noticed that this route was in fact used a few Sundays/Mondays ago so hoping this might mean more freight on a pretty unused midlands east west rail link.

North staffs line closes overnight. Signallers only work till about 11pm I believe

And it'd presumably have to have a shunter to run round in Chaddesden sidings, which can be quite busy around that time with ECS moves shunting off Etches Park.

It runs as an STP, so the schedules will appear in RTT a few days before it is booked to run.
