I thought I recognised this pic - just realised where from!

I suspect the /1 is because of the seat covering - whereas /2 are green

Class 114? (if it existed)


Correct, although you seem to have taken guessing to new heights!

114s were a 64' version of 108s, called Derby Heavyweights, as opposed to 108s being on 57' frames and known as Derby Lightweights. Counting the windows between the vestibules gives the clue.

I'm already preparing a census...!

There are a few less rolling stock classes than stations, so I would (tentatively and gloomily) predict that it will peter away before it catches up.

Although already we are seeing communication between the two!
