Right then, I will probably make a titi out of myself in doing this but here goes

As some of you know and some of you don't, I have become quite a controversial forum member in recent months and not done myself any favours in making friends around here. I have made a few but I surely won't have made any in threads that I have commented on recently.

I came across as, let's be honest, a bit of **** and I might have offended some people in calling for me to be banned yet again. I have recently come off of a temporary ban because of implied swearing and for aggressive behaviour and would have liked to have come back, try to move on and forget everything but my anger got the better of me.

So, therefore, to some of the members that I might have offended in that thread and thhey know who they are, I would like to publicly apologise for my behaviour and I would ask, not that you forgive me or be friends or anything like that but, to move forward, put this in the past and try to get along. You don't have to like me and I would not hold it against any of you to go and tell me to f-off, I feel like I deserve that but, if we could, let's put this matter in the past and forget all about it.

There are four members that I wish to address on a one to one basis.

The first member is ralphchadkirk. ralph, I know we have been having a bit of a laugh and a joke in another thread and I know that we didn't get off to the best of starts in another thread. I'll be honest with you and say that the reason that I got banned was my aggressive behaviour towards yourself and another member, who I forget and cannot remember (legit), but I would like to say to yourself that I apologise for any comments made in the smoking ban thread and hope that we could continue having the fun and laughs that we have in our Third Rail thread. If you want to turn around and tell me to get lost or anything like that, I wouldn't hold it against you but, if we could, can we move on from this and try to have the fun and laughs that we have been having in other threads.

The second member that I would like to personally apologise to is bnm. Now mac, we have only spoke in threads recently and it is fair to say that we didn't get off to a good start. Again, I would admit to everyone that my behaviour towards you might have been concieved as abusive but the fact remains that I was banned for it and to yourself, I wish to apologise. I don't want to deter you from posting against me, I would rather you posted against me if you feel I am doing something wrong and I did do and I would hope that we can put this in the past and move forward from this to try and build up a relationship whereby we could have a laugh and a joke sometimes.

The third member that I would like to apologise to is MikeWH. Now Mike and I have never posted together on threads, we might have done but I might not have noticed him but he sent me what I thought, at the time, was a rather harsh BUT very fair private message about being rude and obnoxious to his friends on here. So to MikeWH, I wish to apologise for insulting you and your friends if that is how it came across to you. I realise that if I rub someone up the wrong way, it is going to rub other people up the wrong way and the fact that you showed balls and showed guts in sending that message to me makes me respect you more that you did that. So, hopefully, I would like for us to put this in the past and move on to try and build a better relationship.

The last person and the person that I really do want to apologise to wholeheartedly is yorkie. Now, as many of you know, yorkie was the guy that started this forum five years ago and it is because of this man that all of us have this forum to come on and post at his disrection. In recent weeks, me and yorkie have seen eye to eye on certain subjects but have not seen eye to eye on other subjects. I have gone so far as to try and discredit him personally and even post abusive comments about him behind his back on my private facebook account, calling him a 'biased prick' amongst other comments. I have also tried to make note of how I felt he was working this forum when it came to other matters and having had a rather heated discussion in which we almost came to extreme blows.

So, to yorkie, for calling you a 'biased prick', for calling into question your way of running this forum, for trying to discredit you, for all of the wrong that I have done to you in the past and for making your life a misery, I wholeheartedly and sincerely apologise to yourself for ever saying these things. The last couple of private mesages that I have had from you made me realise that you are not everything that i said about you, you really are a nice guy, a genuine, honest, hard-working lad who has put this forum up through his own hard work and his own time. One of the sentences I remember from you that will ring true in a lot of ears is that accessing this forum is a privilege and by saying some of the things that I said to you, I abused that privilege and would like for the pair of us to move forward from this, maybe meet up on one of the meets, have a drink, have a laugh and maybe have you punch me out. Failing that, i wish to put all of the recent issues in the past behind us and look forward to a happier working relationship between us.

A lot of you will have seen me as a bad person but there are some that will say that I am not really a bad person, I am a very likeable person to get along with. I like to have a laugh with some of the members in other threads and with some of the other members as well. There will be times when I let my anger and I let my temper get the better of me and I realise that there is a time and a place for this. The threads certainly isn't the place for me to vent my anger on posts.

Now I realise that some of you will be skeptical about this and you will dismiss this apology but I would like to hope that we can all get along and we can all move forward from this.

Hopefully, this will be taken in the right light that it is intended to be taken and to all of those that called for me to be banned, you were right to do so. You were very right to do so because I'd only just come from a ban and I deserved another one for that so if yorkie wishes to go ahead and do that, I would have absolutely no objection to him doing so.

Thank you.

Thank you.

For the record, I don't hold anything against you. Life's too short for grudges, and I'm not that sort of person. I hope we can all move on in the spirit of RUK and go back to having a laugh.

You've had the guts to come foward and publically say you are wrong and apologise, so that's a start, you just need to carry on with this now ....

PS. There's nothing wrong with being contraversial member. You just need to know when to moderate your comments (something I'm still learning).

Forgive me for saying but you are committing the same offence again i.e Implied swearing! Please don't get banned for good!
But it does take guts to publicly say all of that so credit to you! :)

And I knew that this would happen. My horoscope said yesterday I would have to make a big decision after 4pm and to trust my instincts, I thought it meant that meant my chest was finally going to give out and I was a dead man!

Luckily though, it was the fact that I talked things through with yorkie and I decided it was time to draw a line in the sand, put it behind us and go from there

I have a lot of respect for Yorkie. Never met the bloke in person but he's very fair and very intelligent. Top man

Same, even though I am more of a lurker than a poster you've got to give huge credit to the forum members that have put so much into the forum to set it up and keep it going.

Little tip for you Ian, NEVER apoligise publicly, most likely a lot of the forum members would have forgotten about any stupid comments you have said. I only apoligise in PMs to selected members if I feel the need arises. Overall if you apoligise after an arguement unless for special circumstances, its shown that you have lost.

Some of my comments to put can be very arrogant, but I know cos its an internet forum I will get a decent reaction from.

You took the biggest step forward when you made your apology.

I have the greatest respect for Yorkie, and as a Moderator, he is sympathetic and understanding when forum problems occur. A true statesman and a diplomat for the forum. Just listen to the points that he will make to you and try to curb your enthusiasm and not too get too heated in your postings, even though at the time you wanted to pour your heart out with anger when you read something that you did not agree with.

This is not the House of Commons with vitriolic comments passing to and fro across the House, with a Speaker to intervene. It is a forum where opinions are put which can be replied to in a humerous as well as a normal manner, but never in an inflammatory manner. Just read the rules of the forum...they were carefully thought out to ensure all of us enjoy our time on the forum.

My very best wishes to you for the future. Remember the old saying...KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.

It does yield plenty of "you're a brave man", "fair play to you chap" style comments though. :P

I think it's sad that some people have to make an excuse NOT to apologise.

I think what this chap has done deserves every credit. I've made some stupid mistakes in the past and have always apologised for them.

I don't often venture out of the fares and ticketing forum which probably explains why our paths don't often cross, though I'm sure we've both posted in guess the station at one point. Anyway, suffice to say I accept your apology and will put that episode in the past. I might even try and guess another station or two.

In my experience and opinion, it is people of strong mind who can publicly apologise & admit when they are wrong and people of weak mind who cannot. I don't see where winning and losing comes into it and to be honest that is often an excuse of the weak minded

Been unwell recently, so have only been dipping into the forum sporadically. Only recently discovered this thread.

In all honesty I'd forgotten in which thread I and IPT clashed, so I had to look back through my posts. Interesting (and heated) thread was that one!

Apology accepted and I'll apologise for my robust, possibly even brusque, comments made at the time.
