Update on Italia on Tour: no longer valid within Lombardy at all (it used to be valid on Trenitalia and TTPER in Lombardy, not LeNord obviously).
If travelling between Piedmont or western Liguria and the rest of the country you now have to pay for a stretch.
Brilliant value still for most of the country.
There appears to be a €17.50 day ticket for Lombardia ("IVOL"), covering all "local" travel except start/end at Malpensa Airport.
Also for 2, 3, 7 days, the 7-day is €46.50.

Used IVOL on hols in 2022. Handy little pass, also valid on Lake Iseo ferries with a 1 Eur supplement if you land on Mont Isola (not valid on any of the larger lakes) and technically valid in 1st class I think, though that rarely exists on the Regional trains. Highly recommend Lake Iseo for hols, gorgeous, value for money and not rammed with foreign tourists. Very complex rules around MXP, good luck working them all out, but is valid most of the way to the airport iirc.
Agree that the National pass not being valid in such a key region is ridiculous, although it missing out Trenord probably made it close to 'not valid' anyway, as they cover (most?) regional services I think?

Correct. Most remaining TI/TTPER locals became Trenord over the past couple of years.

Milan-Turin RVs are still Trenitalia.

Verona-Bologna and Verona-Mantova-Modena/Parma are TTPER or TI but pass through Lombardy so it's no longer valid on those bits although it was in 2022.

I've downloaded the app to purchase this but it won't accept my date of birth when I go to purchase it. In fact it doesn't seem to accept any DOB earlier than 02.01.70! Does anyone know a way around this?

In the end I just bought a PDF ticket through the website which can handle my correct date of birth.

For junior <26 and for FRance:
there will be a (copy of DE-ticket- but not really that wide) 49€/monthly, for the summer monthes july+august (Juillet-aout) TER-only trains only, but NO RER/TransIlien and perhaps also more restrictions in some other regions. Also no local transit: bus, tram, metro etc. Just read that in the german DSO-forum.
Availabilty and how to get it for those etrangers=foreigners as for now unknown.
