Train breakdown causing issues on Manchester to Sheffield service (21/02)

A Train failed this morning between Manchester & Sheffield causing long delays to services. The EMR service at 8:40am from Sheffield to Norwich departed over 2 hours late, some TPE services were over an hour late & a couple of Northern services were cancelled. Anyone know which Train failed?

Looks like there was may have been a problem with the 0719 TransPennine Express service to Doncaster. Seems to have been stood at platform 1 at Stockport from 0825 until 1012. Might not be the only train that was affected.

I believe it was 6L45 that failed having just departed Hope Sidings.

I was waiting on that service at Sheffield yesterday, spoke to the train crew and there wasn't an issue on the train itself as it terminated at Sheffield and made the return to Liverpool rather than continuing on to Doncaster at 2 hours late with the following Liverpool-Doncaster service taking over.

Noted. Always good when someone is able to advise what actually happened.

Realtime Trains stated "This service was cancelled between Sheffield and Doncaster due to a problem with the traction equipment" whatever that means.

Looks now like it was indeed another train on the Hope Valley line thst had a problem, with the result that the TPE service was held for an extended period at Stockport (perhaps not the worst place on the network to so hold a passenger train).

Quite - the preceding Liverpool-Norwich seems to have been stuck at Earles Sidings for 2hr while they rescued the freight.
