Not seen that before. Looks like a one off, as it goes back to terminating at Reading later in the week. There is a corresponding swap of a Basingstoke terminator to the North Downs Line in Reading at the same time, but that involves a shunt so doesn't end up as a through service.

I note that the North Downs Line is replaced by buses between Reading and Blackwater this weekend, so may be a way of circulating the units between routes.

This is so the unit can remain local and drop out to Reading TCD for Fuel after the morning peak.

The unit will be 165111 if they stay in sequence and will land on depot only just within its fuel range.

One more trip to Gatwick results in the unit being over the fuel range.
