I notice that Barton Hill Depot has had it's EWS signage removed recently, and replaced by LNWR logos. Obviously the place has changed hands, does anybody know the situation behind this? It always appeared a bit of an unusual EWS facility, as there was often none of their stock anywhere in sight except for the odd hopper wagon or two, and the primary use appears to be servicing/stabling XC's Voyagers and the odd steam loco here and there. Are LNWR planning to set up a repair facility here?
On the same theme, does anybody know the intended fate of the bent EWS hopper wagon which has been dumped there in the sidings adjacent to the mainline for ages now, which seems to have side-swiped something judging by the huge gash down the side?!
And finally, there were either one or two Class 37's in undercoat grey, stored at Barton Hill quite a while back. I seem to recall reading something about them potentially being reactivated, did they become part of the NR 97XXX fleet? Or are they no longer with us?!
