Hopefully a quick answer to this question - Is there a known plan for ETCS fitment of Class 221 and/or Class 222 units?

I’m aware that a Class 180 FiC is being tested/comissioned (Alstom Atlas 3), but if open-access operators are wishing to deploy Class 22x south of Doncaster, these units will need fitting.

Not if they are going to get replaced before 2030, which is the latest date I have for switch off of conventional signalling on this section of the ECML.

Point of pedantry.

The ICWC Class 221s are fitted with ETCS. It's just not usable in the way that provides the level requires for ECML.
