Well they were at one time called the Spanish East Indies. I have been to 5 of them. So I assume they were named after a Spanish princess or queen.

How can Caroline’s (female) be named after a King. I didnt think there had been a tranny (LBGTQ) monarch?

I think that it is derived from the Latinised form Carolus or similar. Carolina, not so far from you, is the same (I think).

Absolutely. After previously being named The Islands of The King's they were renamed Las Carolinas by the Spanish.

Right... next question... sticking with battleships, which such vessel dating from the Second World War was famously restored to service in 1982 after a very long lay up?
