That could be interesting. Could the Edinburgh expresses maybe get a couple?
If they didn't have to use the fourth bridge multiple times a day then something like this with coach seats as opposed to the standard lazarini jobs would be ideal but the disruption and fuss the caused every time they had to switch to the new bridge and still serve some of the stops only available from the Old bridge or run a single deck shuttle back and forth over the Old bridge to connect into the Express would probably be more hassle than it was worth

Who said that they had to serve those stops? Why not make stops at the bottom & top of the Queensferry Crossing?

I'm not sure exactly what we're supposed to be looking at as you haven't provided captions to accompany the attached photos, but the fact that it's the M90 that goes over the Queensferry Crossing should provide a clue as to why there are no bus stops.

I mean as in if they close the Forth Road Bridge, they could add temporary stops at the slip roads for the Queensferry Crossing. If not, the buses could stop at Ferrymuir Retail Park to make up for the closure of the South Forth Bridge stops

The Queensferry Crossing is a motorway class road - you cannot have pedestrians on it!

So I’m writing a script for a project I’m doing & I just wanted to check something; is there an AB1 guide at Ferrytoll Park & Ride or do people have to rely on the website?

IIRC there's an AB1-branded bus shelter with a large poster or two; I forget what practical information, if any, they provide.

The last time I was there leaflets were provided for the AB1 inside the main building, alongside timetable and fare information on the stance 4 shelter itself.

FYI there is no longer any leaflets, I dare say the next reprint will be when the service is extended.

I still have one of the leaflets if need be - it reads more as promotional spin rather than actual informatinal leaflets
There was loads of AB1 leaflets last time I was at Ferrytoll yet there is none for the express services which could be useful.

How is the AB1 service doing?
Haven't used the service myself but from what I see in passing the Forth Road Bridge its loadings seem rather light compared to city centre services or the airport 747 bus. Still early days of course and I suspect the main reason for running the service is to trial the technology rather than carry passengers commercially.

I agree with pretty much all of this. The 747 is a link from Fife to Edinburgh Airport, of course it’ll be busy, & the Express City Connect services tend to display Bus Full signs after the southbound stop on the Forth Road Bridge at North Queensferry. The AB1 is fairly quiet so far, since it doesn’t really work as a local route unless you stay in Jamestown (by Ferrytoll P&R) or in Echline, right next to the Forth Road Bridge. If people do want to get from somewhere along the route of Edinburgh Park to Fife, they’ll either take the X24/X27 (Glasgow, Cumbernauld, Larbert), the 28 (Falkirk, Larbert), the X51 (Livingston), or the train to Larbert then an X24/X27/28. Only useful if somebody lives in Fife & is meeting a friend at Hermiston Gait

I often see no one on board the service.

People have been using it around peak time, mainly for Edinburgh business park or the two uni campus. It also been busy when stuff has been happening at Murryfield, but out with that, as others have said there have been running a bit empty.

Enviro E300 - 27131 was involved in a RTC last Friday, sustaining rear offside damage.
Seen today on suspended tow passing Bargeddie on the M8 westbound.

Could the 89 (North Queensferry - Crossford) potentially be curtailed to Dunfermline Bus Station so it actually has time to terminate at both ends? I’m trying to work out the timetable for a custom bus service from Battery Road to South Edinburgh but it’d be waiting at North Queensferry but at the other end for 50 minutes which I just think is unreasonable. This is a complaint with the 89 that I also have with the Borders Buses 51 (12min At Edinburgh, 73min At Galashiels). There could even be a service like the 5 which would do a circular service between James Street & Crossford, taking 40 minutes

Service 9
James Street
Dunfermline Bus Station
Pittencrief
Crossford Town Centre
Venachar Place
Crossford Town Centre
Kirkwood Crescent
Woodlands Drive
Crossford Town Centre
Pittencrief
Dunfermline Bus Station
James Street
46min journey time
Every 60min daily
14min curtailing at James Street
Allocated to Enviro200EVs

Service 89 (service 89A/89B withdrawn)
North Queensferry
Ferrytoll Park & Ride
Inverkeithing Station
Duloch Park
Queen Margaret Hospital
Garvock Hill
Dunfermline Bus Station
43min journey time both ways
Every 60min Mon-Sat
18min curtailing at Dunfermline
16min curtailing at North Queensferry
Allocations unchanged (Enviro400Hs)

also, could the 88 maybe be rerouted to North Queensferry Station instead of Battery Road to make it so that the Bay Travel 87 didn’t curtail for only one minute by adding an alternative for Ferrytoll Park & Ride so it got 4 minutes at NQ? As stated prior, I’m making a custom alternative so North Queensferry has a bus every 30 minutes still. Could the 87 maybe even curtail at Inverkeithing Square?

Service 89 is a council contract which uses two buses. If you need to use more than 2 buses it won't happen. On top of that, you can't withdraw the 89B as that provide a link on certain roads at peak time to the Ferrytoll.

Most people in North Queensferry just walk up to Forth Bridge north side bus stops to catch the Edinburgh services.

Well then why not make those journeys come under the 89, remaining more or less the same but diverting via the 89B route but operating as service 89 (like the journeys on the Lothian 44 to Whitecraig)?

Again its Fife council route. Secondly 89B missing out a section of road that 89/A operates on, so not like the journeys on the Lothian 44 to Whitecraig.

400EV 84071 has ventured out onto one of the peak X55 workings tonight, likely the first time this route has seen an electric vehicle?

How busy are the X59 X60 etc leaving Edinburgh on weekend mornings, especially during the summer? I'm trying to catch it on Queensferry Street. How likely it will be full and I might be refused boarding?

You should be ok, earlier the time at weekend the quieter it is. I would get the service from the bus station for peace of mind.
