Bizarre FOI find of the day: Scotrail has openly published a two-hour long sound file containing every single element of its automated station announcements

Whilst most of the part-announcements are obvious ones which are regularly needed or might be needed somewhere on Scotrail, there are some odd inclusions and omissions e.g.

[1] under what circumstances could any part of Scotrail need to announce the arrival of a Southeastern train?

[2] why are some semi-regular destinations omitted?

For [2] I'm thinking in particular of St Neots, which becomes the destination for some LNER trains when there is no access to Kings Cross. On one occasion maybe 3-4 years ago, all the announcements at Waverley were for "the such-and-such LNER departure to" (silence) "calling at...", which must have been thoroughly mystifying to many passengers.

A lot of these are rather odd. I think that what has probably happened is that Ketech just used the same script as for Celia Drummond and Phil Sayer but went through and removed the thousands of irrelevant ones before giving the script to Alison Mckay to record. So what probably happened is that there are some that Ketech did not notice or forgot to remove which is how we ended up with some odd ones that would never be announced at a Scotrail station. That would be my guess for how all these irrelevant files have ended up being recorded.
