Typically how many passengers use Dalmally station for each train that calls there? Maybe four persons per train? It's not exactly Glasgow Queen Street or Edinburgh Waverley during the morning peak.

No... Manchester Piccadingey Platform 13/14 is the winner by a mile, even after being de-cluttered.

And staff, employed to loiter on the platform, to keep you within painted lines, who obstruct the places you are supposed to walk, forcing you to walk between the red line and yellow line where they don't want you to be...

I used to deliver mail to a house like that. The occupants turned their front room into a day bedroom and spent the day in their pyjamas, chain smoking while watching the QVC channel. As a result, a constant stream of QVC parcels arrived at their house, and their front garden was awash with this sort of tat. The back end of a Jack Russell, rendered in concrete, digging a hole in the ground... that sort of thing.

I may be missing something here, but I don't think the OP was actually asking if anyone could identify the station from the photo. But was posing a question as to whether there was another platform anywhere that was more cluttered.
From that photo it looks like Albert Steptoe's box room, I'd be surprised if there's another that comes close!

That is an improvement on the first picture, better it be flowers than that assortment of random crap e.g. a spinning wheel, a bike, various chairs etc.

That’s a very dated picture of Wymondham surely. David Turner hasn’t owned the building with his Brief Encounter cafe and piano tuning business for 10 years at least. Not quite such a floral display these days.

Possibly so - I haven't visited Wymondham in person; it was just a picture I happened to find online. Although an Internet search yields perhaps more recent photos which show the station as more "plain".

Stratford (London) platforms 9/10 have to be up there for clutter and general mish mash. Although some shelters were removed it’s still a congested uninviting area to wait for your train.
Define clutter. That station looks pretty, and the items are in a straight line way from the platform edge. It's stations with random A-boards and the like that look cluttered

Wouldn't shelters make it a more inviting area, not less?

Certainly not, it's far too congested with passenger numbers these days hence their removal.
Gosh, I've often caught the train to Oban via Falls of Cruachan from there. That's going back a few years and it wasn't like that then. It's lovely! Wonder who did it?

IMO new build stations look cluttered. To my mind having all individual posts for different functions adds up to a lot of poles making the station appear cluttered.

The problem is that, with the tactiles and the yellow line, exhorting people to stay behind the line becomes harder if the raiway itself clutters up the space. Of course, at very quiet stations it's usually not an issue, but imagine a blind person trying to navigate along some of the jumble sale-resembling platforms.
That looks like a lovely place to wait for a train on a warm sunny day.

I wouldn't say that's a particularly fair photograph, cameras have a habit of causing foreshortening and making things look closer together and more cluttered than they do in real life. Using the measurement tool on Google maps suggests that the lamp posts are around 12m apart, which is a lot further than that photograph would make it appear to be. Admittedly there's a few other posts there too, but it's still not all that bad, I've seen far worse pavements.

It's an Airbnb. Run by a couple who bought the station as a ruin many years ago and gradually rebuilt it. There's 4 or 5 rooms, a couple of caravans and a wooden wigwam thing out the back. The lady also runs weaving and various other classes (Heartfelt by Liz). It's often pretty busy during the summer although I did hear they had split up so things may have changed. Definitely needs a declutter though.

When I first glanced at the original picture, I initially thought it was Wymondham, although I've only alighted there once (to visit the Mid-Norfolk Railway).
