There seems to be a backlog of trains up the Preston via Chorley line from Salford. What is the issue - delay codes seem to be something about traction equipment?

I see 2W27 1852 Stalybridge to Southport has diverted down the Atherton line.
Is 1Z99 going to 2W25, I don't think 1Z99 is any actual train currently, I can't see it on Realtime trains?

1Z99 won’t have a schedule as such visible on RTT - it’s the standard headcode for a nearby loco or other compatible unit to couple to the broken down train.

I got caught up in this, ended up bussing it all the way from Manchester to Chorley.

My mate ended up doing Horwich Parkway to Preston on the bus too! Not great information from the operator on service resumption tbh.
