On the subject of escalators and lifts at stations such as Saint P there is currently various mid-life upgrade work going on on both and I think this it will finish sometime next year. But there does seem to be an awful lot of other ones out in all sorts of places on the network, the ones at Edinburgh particularly from station to Princes Street have never worked properly from the day they were put in and should probably really be stripped out and replaced with something far more hardwareing such as on the London underground, same in fact could be said for virtually every other new escalator installed in the last 15 years, in my personal opinion cheap nasty rubbish
