What is this train at Carstairs C.E. (Civil Engineering)

Hi, does anyone happen to know what this train was? It ran from last Friday night (29th Sept) to Saturday morning on the Argyle Line

I believe it is also currently sitting at Carstairs C.E. right now aswell.

My guess is that it was a rail grinder but I am really not sure and would appreciate anyones help. Thanks

Since its already grinded the rail there (evident by the sound local trains made these past few days), will it do it again? Or will it just run full speed over the track (and not grind it). It also ran last night over the exact same route as tonights planned one.

Also how often do Network Rail grind particular sections of track? Is it a yearly thing or?

Apologies if this seems like an interview, I just find this really interesting. Especially with the sounds the trains make after the rail grinder runs.
