Hi guys please i dont no the right platform to post this i just hope im on the right platform, i was on a train from chatham to gravesend yesterday and i purchased a discounted ticket with 26-30yr rail card but unfortunatley i left my other phone at home where i have my rail card. So , one of the officer stop me and ask for my ticket which i showed her, she requested for my railcard and i open into my acc showed her the information with railcard number, she insisted she needs to see the one with my picture i explained to her i forgot my phone with the railcard so she requested for my info and i gave her all corect details and she said if i provide any info diffeent from wat i provided it prosecution. Which i gave all correct info, so she took picture of my ticket and issue a paper with reference number and the link to where i need to post proof of my railcard which have done already. Just to double check wat would the outcome be ?

You’re allowed one opportunity per year to ‘forget’ your railcard, and then provide a copy of it to the train operator later on.

So it looks as though this was your one opportunity. If there are no other issues then the company should write back to confirm that everything is ok and the matter is closed.

Obviously you’ve now used your one chance, so it’s very important that you use the correct phone in future. You may also be able to hold the railcard on two phones - if you are using the Railcard app then download it to the other phone and see if you can generate another code to get your railcard on it.

Thank you@alhlmes. This is the first time im having to forget my railcard, and no issues before now. But there has been a time last year when i got on train in a rush before buying the ticket and the ticket officer check and issued a slip of £66 pounds which i paid and i was told case closed.

The earlier occurrence sounds like a Penalty Fare and is not related to the one-time forgotten railcard issue.
You should be OK this time.

One opportunity once every 12 months to forget your Railcard and produce it later. So you should be fine.

If you've sent in a copy of your railcard then there's nothing else to do at this stage. These things often take a few weeks to process.

thank you hadder but they told me they will get back to me in 10 days.
But earlier you say
Please what do you advise it a week already do I need to reach out to them and how do i do that.
Let them have the ten days that they said they would need - and remember that they might mean ten working days (so two weeks). Then it might be time to start worrying.

Hopefully, the inspector told the OP about the "forgotten once" rule and didn't leave them worrying unnecessarily.
It’s written on the slip of paper posted in the thread, and circled by the inspector.

It often takes GTR a few weeks to deal with these sort of cases so I wouldn't be too concerned at this stage. It might be worth dropping a brief email to GTR's Prosecutions Department asking them to confirm they got a copy of your railcard and that the case is now closed. Their email address is gtr.prosecutions@gtrailway.com

Nothing will show on a DBS check unless you have been convicted by a court, and even then it's unlikely to show if you're prosecuted under the railway bylaws. If you're really concerned then it might be best to have a word with your manager.
