Out of curiosity. Are trainee driver courses populated on a depot by depot basis, or filled with whoever they can regardless of where they're going to be based?

Once you have had your medical, do you get any confirmation? What happens next (I've got my start date)

I got the nod on the day from the Medical person carrying out the assesments that all is good (Last Thurs) but just wondering what's next?

Anyone passed DMI in the last few months for Crewe still waiting to hear for next steps? Just trying to gauge if there’s much movement happening

Not if you have already got start date. You'll get several emails to sort out rail pass, uniform etc

I passed DMI for Crewe in mid May. Not heard anything since. I did ask recruitment as had holidays booked and they told me we’re looking early next year

Cardiff one is a talent pool but still worth applying
Can I ask, what’s the difference between the talent pool vacancies and the usual ones. Is there a lesser chance of getting a job with the talent pool ones as you may just sit there for two years and then time run out?

Nothing too major outside of yed the talent pool is basically the TOC filling up some backup, ready to contact candidates that have full passed most of the process besides medical and contract signing etc. You could be in a talent pool for some weeks and then suddenly get the call or be in the pool and never hear anything back.

A toc recruiting for a direct vacancy will move the eligible candidates it wants directly thru all of the process and those that remain will mostly ended up in a talent pool.

Great, thank you. A gamble then but worthwhile nevertheless :D

Cardiff and pretty much all other depots have several courses over the next 2 years. There's 3 more Cardiff ones this year, plus 12 next year. Obviously further ahead you look the less uncertain they are.

Most TFW positions are talent pool
Some are fortunate and are offered immediate starts once the process is complete
Most spend some time in the talent pool waiting for course start dates

Apply and if successful you will be in the pool waiting for a course

I know TFW advertised only last week for trainee drivers but does anyone know when they will advertise next? I couldn’t apply last week due to failing a DMI earlier this year and having to wait until the 6 month period has lapsed.

If I remember correctly I’m sure it’s at least once every 3-6 months or so?

Hi, first post for me on here :) was just wondering how long would you expect it to take to hear back after submitting an application to see if you’ve got past the initial paper sift?

Applied for the last transport of Wales driver opening on the 30th August.

Thanks in advance and good luck to anyone else in the process

Anyone fairly knowledgeable about contracts / the new pay offer that's been accepted care to offer some advice please?
What do you need

Basically the contract I've recently signed has the old salary figures on it & I was wondering if me signing it & sending it over to TFW given that it has the old salary on it matters?

No it won't. All new starters at TFW and those who joined during the deal etc will all be moved onto the new 34k salary.

You won't get a new contract. But once you join your online details will show the new figure
