Hi guys will the bell codes be taught on a TCB course .

Im due to start IST soon, I wondered if there was anything needed to be looked into before starting? I believe I’m doing a TCB course aswell.

I was told I live too far a couple days after it closed despite passing the tests.

That’s a shame, I’m sorry. I guess no news is good news for now. It’s a broad area to cover and not live too far from at least one of them!

I would advise learning the phonetic alphabet.

Apart from that I would not worry at all. They teach you everything from scratch. The two week course prior to IST gives you all the basic information you need.

Same here.. Where is your Signalling School? I've downloaded the bell code app, just gradually getting to know them, and basic Signalling stuff off the internet just so I'm not going in totally dark.

Unless you’re going to a lever frame box with AB working, I would not bother learning bell codes.

Hello everybody here, I applied for the role "Trainee Signaller Grade 2 - Ashford, East Kent Signalling Centre, Three Bridges ROC & Hastings" passed the assessment and waiting for further steps... was sent an email that I will get an update 2weeks after the deadline and its more than 2 weeks already... has anyone here given interview for the above roles? What's the shift pattern of those centres? And what is the next step after passing the initial application assessment? Thank you

I got my interview invite on Friday afternoon. Had to complete scenario by today. Fingers crossed you hear back soon. My online dashboard did change to pending assessment 2, has yours changed? Thank you

I would definitely give the medical company a call and see what they can do.
Yesterday I received a call booking my appointment for next Weds in York so there may be scope. I'm based in Notts/York area - 40 min by train, 1h 20 min by car.

Sorry to jump on this but was the medical at The Old Carriageworks on Holgate Park Drive in York? I can't find this on Google Maps and don't want to waste time at my medical on Friday trying to find it! Is it basically the same place as Network Rail - Holgate Depot? I'm sure the security staff could point me in the right direction but if I'm miles off I could do without the stress before a Blood Pressure test!

The actual roster I don't know. But I know that they do 12hr Training shifts. And that doesn't include Sunday's. However you are entitled to a Sunday day turn and night turn during training due to different rosters etc.

The actual roster I don't know. But I know that they do 12hr Training shifts. And that doesn't include Sunday's. However you are entitled to a Sunday day turn and night turn during training due to different rosters etc.

With the training shifts do you follow your trainers roster?, and in turn if that includes a Sunday you entitled to work it and get paid?

Before you start each test there will be a practice to get an idea of what the real test what bring.

I was placed onto the reserve list for this this however I have declined it as I was told the wait was likely to be longer than the 6 months allowed and have accepted a G2 role at Knearsborough, starting school in York in March next year. It’s a way through the door and can move about a year afterwards anyway so I think it’s the best move for me.

I assumed it wouldn't run through the Christmas period and would likely pick up in the new year but was hoping someone could advise as I know the actual role has the potential for working Christmas day etc.

I had a Christmas IST, we got two weeks off which was a welcome break!
