Just wondering if theres anyone on hear thats been offered one of the latest tayside grade 2/3 positions and if they have heard much since finding out they were successful

Got a feeling no news may be good news mate. I got an email on the 11th saying I was in the pool of top scoring candidates, then nothing until yesterday saying I’d be unsuccessful but placed on the reserve list “for the foreseeable”.
Third attempt for the Tayside area in the past 2 years so getting closer at least!

Ah thats fine mate, there was talk of wanting me to start in october which would only give me 2 weeks to do medicals and hand notice in on time so assumed i would have heard but been over a week now and heard nothing since being told. Just wanted to see if others were in same boat. thanks

I interviewed for a Grade 3/4 role in Scotland back in April this year and wasn’t successful. I requested feedback and it seems my scenario assessment let me down as the interview feedback was all very positive and no negative points at all.

I’ve applied a grade 7 role just there and I’ve read that my previous scenario assessment will be used for this vacancy as it was within the last 6 months.

I’m assuming it’s not possible to request to resit the scenario assessment if shortlisted - has anybody asked the question before?

Stays on for 6 months so you won’t get to do it again until that one expires. I’d imagine they only use those scores (from the scenario) if you scored the same as another candidate points wise in the interview though

Yep same here. Whether or not they use the second one whilst first is still valid I don’t know. But I could definitely do one again.

Thanks for posting the shift pattern. I'm thinking about applying for railway jobs but coming from outside the industry, i have zero knowledge of the shift patterns and they make a big difference to work life balance in either direction.
Can I ask, is the Sunday mandatory for working or can you choose not to work it?

Basically you have to work it unless you can find a qualified colleague who will do it instead

Not yet, passed the assessment and awaiting interview (finger crossed). Just wondering what the shift pattern is like to have an idea of days off.

If you cant find a colleague to cover it then you will have to work it, with that said I doubt you will have many problems finding someone to cover a Sunday.

What's the shift pattern of those centres? And what is the next step after passing the initial application assessment? Thank you

I was told I live too far a couple days after it closed despite passing the tests.
