I'm sure I read on a sign at London Victoria that there will be a limited service from Gatwick to London on the ASLEF strike day. Yet I cannot find it mentioned anywhere else. Does anyone know if there will be a service?

Other strike timetables (iirc) have 2tph between Victoria to Brighton and 2tph between London Bridge and Three Bridges, both going through Gatwick. It isn’t guaranteed it will be the same this time however

On RMT strike days, GTR run trains. On ASLEF strike days (Friday 1st Sept) they usually don't. Hence why the announcement about trains is surprising.

GTR almost always run trains, albeit a VERY limited service

I see that Southern have updated their website:

A very limited Southern shuttle service will run, calling at Gatwick Airport and London Victoria only. These limited services will be extremely busy, a queueing system will be in place, and you may not be able to board your chosen service. If you are planning to travel on one of the last trains of the day, please be aware that, depending on the size of the queue, you may not be able to board a service at all, and no alternative transport options will be provided after the last train departs
