when I had a similar query I went on signal box.org, just click on Section C, that lists all the upcoming and past alterations (Some of which have been delayed or scrapped completely). I think the boxes you mentioned are listed as having been closed in 2022, so if still open…..? Hope this helps if nobody can give you any better information. Good Luck

Had my interview this morning for York ROC G7. Felt it went well although have said that the previous 4 times, but felt like I sold myself better this time. To my surprise was advised I would find out tomorrow if I were successful or not, unlike the normal 3/4 weeks of waiting, also told the post went internal also so Fingers crossed I’ve done enough this time.

Personally, I found the online training a waste of time, it gave you such a basic version of what you are going to be learning that it's hardly useful.
Don't be scared of the Week 1 test, it ain't that bad, our whole class got >90%
If you want a heads up, look at general PTS, What various signs mean on the railway, definitions of on or near the line etc

Yeah. When you pass the week 1 assessment (and I say when, not if) then you'll realise that you really shouldn't be there if you can't pass it.

What I was meaning was that it confirms that you are taking stuff in and you do know more than you think you do. So, in those moments of freaking out during week 1 and thinking 'I've made a mistake coming here I'm just not getting this/will my old job be available etc' (I had those exact thoughts and they are still at the back of my mind) you'll have something to build on and I think that's what key to this course.

Yes it's intense, of course it is. It has to be. The trick is to take it all in at bite size chunks and build on it.

Having recently completed the assessment tests for a grade 2 signalling role im just curious on some peoples feedback as to how they found it. I mostly found that most tests we're ok other than one of their grid tests which was remembering position of the dots on a non conformed grid, did anyone else struggle with this?

Naturally it may be an apply again in the future for not fully completing it but how long was it people found before they hear back either positively or negatively from the tests?

I thought I'd really messed up on those grid memory tests - found them nearly impossible! But was told I passed the next day. Have seen others say the same on here re the grid memory test, so don't worry too much.

Good afternoon all. I have an interview on Thursday for grade 5 job at Maidstone West and am working through all of my notes, posts here and info from the forum.

Can/would anyone shed any light on the type of questions they've experienced in Signaller interviews in the past. I'd imagine some of it will be competencies and qualities but as someone who has never worked on the rail network, the thought of more detailed rail specific questions is making me a little nervous!

I have been this afternoon been offered a G2 job after being placed on the reserve list today. I was open and honest and said I’m waiting to hear if I got the G7 one before I can accept or decline, so it’s been left open at the moment.

You should definitely use the STAR method. It’s a great way to structure your answers.

Hi everyone I interviewed for the wakefield area 2 months ago and was placed on the reserve list.Totally out of the blue yesterday I got a call offering me the role.It goes to show the reserve list definitely works.Im absolutely made up.I start on the 22nd of January and school starts 2nd of February in York.Has anyone else got that start date for IST.Thank you so much to everyone who contributes to this forum.Its a wealth of info and truly believe I wouldn't have got this far without it.Good luck to everyone with your onward journeys.

Hi mate, I had my medical about 2 weeks ago! It’s pretty standard stuff tbh. D&A screening, eyesight test, hearing test, height and weight, blood pressure and medical history questionnaire!
