Not SC related but i thought i'd mention it

First orders, 2011-12

Double-deck Volvo B9TL/Wrightbus - 144
ADL Enviro400 - 106
Volvo B5TL/Wrightbus hybrid - 30
ADL Enviro400H hybrid -10
Total - 290

Single-deck
Volvo B7RLE/Wrightbus - 50
Wrightbus StreetLite - 46
ADL Enviro200 - 43
Total - 99
Coach
Volvo/Plaxton - 2
TOTAL - 431 with the other 29 still to be confirmed
Still, 460 new buses is a lot better than none at all, and its noticeable how much of the order is for double decker buses which is also very welcome indeed.
As is so often the case the majority of the order will go to London. There are 293 going to London and 167 buses for everybody else.
So how does that split down?
East England (24)
Manchester (25)
Berkshire (5)
Leeds (16)
Glasgow (33)
Scotland East (29)
Bristol (14)
Devon & Cornwall (7)
Hampshire (14)

And Stagecoach have again put an order in for more new Hybrids
20 E400H For Manchester
19 New E350 Hybrids for Perth and Aberdeen

Forgot to note that as well as Staceys having a 11 plate Coach Irvings of Carlisle also have a 11 plate volvo in Orange fleet livery, looks really smart!

Would be nice if something different was used in Carlisle on the 95/X95 for a change. Sick of the sight of them Scanias!

Doubt they'll be prioritising the x95, although it would be nice to have a working heater or 2 when I come to carlisle! Its always a luxury to get a nice warm shiny 104 to centerparks after 3 and a half hours chilly thrash down the a7. A crackin run by the way if you've not done it! Would like to think some of the east scotland order will be allocated to musselburgh/dalkeith, desperately needed! If we get some deckers then there might be a few clapped out oli's going cheep for you northwesterners, if ya want them. Cant see why ya would!

Sorry to crash your thread!

Green Road has been in use at Barrow for a couple years!

24116 & 36184 have been in use on route training duties today around Lancaster.

Shame I missed those two out and about!!!

Yeah Green Road was trialled in Barrow. Come to think of it not sure if it was only select buses that had it or not. If the whole BA fleet had/has it then the Trident that's at ME must be down for another reason.

24116 has quite a few new grille's on its a*se end. There's a new one where the old rear ad used to be, and there's some on the rear bumper too. Looks odd.

47617 on Workington Town evening services.
47061 on evening 30.
15685 and 15686 on 301's.

Took a ride on some of the MCV Evolutions with Reays. They're 36 seaters, on VDL-Bus chassis, Cummins engined. They are rather awesome, pick up speed extremely well, very smooth, and didn't shake about at all (rather the complete opposite of the Primo's).

Down for Green Road installation apparently. Assume the Trident from BA is down for the same reason!

Top answer cannot believe aftr all the recent posts nobody else has guessed they should all have been collected this teatime, certainly I had Carlisle and Fleetwood drivrs looking for lifts down to the shed

The inner recesses of my tortured mind.
Evening all,

Can anyone tell me, please, what the normal allocations are for the following:

555 Lancaster - Keswick
554 Keswick - Carlisle
79/379 Carlisle - Dumfries
X74 Dumfries - Glasgow

Also, does the 555 turn into the 554 at Keswick, or do you have to change buses?

Thanks in anticipation, folks :D

555/6 - Kendal's knackered Tridents
554 - olympian I do believe.
79/379 *should* Be one of Carlisle's MANs, but...
X74 will be a Profile or Panther I guess

You will need to change from 555 to 554 at Keswick; Kendal operate the 555, Carlisle the 554 (Kendal did used to go all the way some years ago)

Mainly is MAN E300 on 79/379. Darts very rarely get on (never enough of them), so B10M's get on every now and then when 24122 isn't available, or more than 1 branded one is missing.

554 is currently 16355 or 16397. Could get a B10M on there every now and then, but it is mainly those 2.

X74 is often Volvo B12BT Plaxton Panthers, but does get a Profile if one of the Panthers has to cover a broken Panther on Megabus / Citylink.

Been noticing more and more recently how tired some of ME's B10s look and sound. Some of them still go like the clappers but they haven't really been touched for a very long time inside or out unless it was repairs. Makes you wonder if they are all set for the chop soon. The new E300s wont be replacing them if we are losing a load of MANs or even just a few so maybe we could see some second hand stuff from somewhere. Just a thought anyway :)

An odd allocation for maryport today! 47616 in orbit on 56/57/57a! An 08 solo in scaryport! We're not worthy!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
About the only solo i have seen/heard climb to ewanrigg without screaming! Sailed up at speed! Even b10s struggle there!

We never get a 08reg solo in Workington now! Is this due to the PVR decrease in Workington?

Just depends on which ones are actually on the road. Often is the case that Whitehaven end up with the 08's though.

Should be one on 1s & one on 58s (in theory).

They were purchased for routes 3 and 4 Mirehouse services.

an 08reg solo should never be in Maryport 08reg solos are too good for Maryport!

47005 should be allocated for Maryport 57.
47006 when it's back should go on 58.

08reg solos are only suitable for Workington and Jam Eaters.
