Travelling to Cardiff tomorrow just checked routing with National Rail Enquiries for travel on 1018 departure from Paddington in the light of no trains Aylesbury to Marylebone due to line closure just south of Aylesbury. Depart Rickmansworth 0813 arrive Amersham 0824 then take 0825 from Amersham to Baker Street ( passing through Ricky) then presumably Bakerloo to Paddington.

It's because there is no transfer time set up in the system for Rickmansworth - Paddington, but there is for Amersham - Paddington, so it has to send you to Amersham first in order to find a valid itinerary.

Having tried a few sites, GWR (Worldline WebTIS), FastJP, LNER and the forum's version of Trainsplit are all clever enough to work out that you can get the Met Line to Baker Street (and include actual times) then the Bakerloo to Paddington, rather than doubling back via Amersham.

c2c and Avanti (PICO4UK), and Raileasy all throw an error.

The other sites (Trainline, Chiltern, NRE and Thameslink) send you via Amersham...but pick up the relevant train times to Amersham, but not back to Baker Street, whilst doing so.

According to the latest timetable data, London Underground train times between Amersham and Baker Street has been added into the timetable data, therefore a proper journey planner should be able to return the times.

Whether they can validate the routing against fares is a problem since Baker Street is outside the Routeing Guide as it is not a National Rail line.
