Watford Junction to Birmingham Stations query

Hi,

I have an off-peak return from Watford Junction to Birmingham Stations route via London.

Would this ticket allow me to travel from Watford to New Street, then on the return, travel from Moor Street to Marylebone, then take the tube to Euston, and the train back to Watford?

I asked at the ticket office to double check as I thought this was allowed but they said probably not, so I don’t know now.

Did you buy that ticket specifically so you could use Chiltern on the return? It seems rather strange choosing a 'via London' routing if not, as there are plenty of direct services from Watford to Birmingham.

Yes, that was the idea, to add some variety to the journey
