You should be fine with rules. It's recommended that you don't start ahead of your course regards rules as that will confuse you , rules courses are structured in a way that helps the trainees .Hi everyone. That's me finished work now until the phone call comes.
With some spare time on my hands I was wondering if there are any resources online or physical that I could get my head into specifically the rules & regs. I have heard that phase is particularly brutal so thought may as well use my spare time wisely if anyone knows of any good resources!
I applied on the 27th may. I am starting on the 17th this month so need it sorted asap .Thanks mate, yeah I'll give them a call. Good job I asked now! How long have you been waiting?
Great name. I'm a Baz too haha. You should be fine with rules. It's recommended that you don't start ahead of your course regards rules as that will confuse you , rules courses are structured in a way that helps the trainees .
I wouldn't bother mate. They do everything in class at a good pace to learn at. Most won't make sense unless you have any previous background. I didn't and glad I waited.Hi everyone. That's me finished work now until the phone call comes.

You'll be fine. Everyone gets through it, the trainers are brill with lots of different material.
You could always go on railway sites and browse abbreviations, different types of signals etc. But I'd honestly say enjoy any down time before you start. You'll be railway overload soon enough
Probably just have a look at some basic PTS stuff mate. Loads of it online, it’ll give you a slight grounding and take away that little bit of learning at the start so it’s not all belt fed into you at once.Hi everyone. That's me finished work now until the phone call comes.

When did you find out you passed DMI... I'm Shrewsbury also.I'd almost forgotten I'd applied for this. Shrewsbury candidate here. Replied to pick my preferred slot and heard nothing back, guessing that's normal...?
I haven't passed DMI.When did you find out you passed DMI... I'm Shrewsbury also.
Apologies I thought you meant preferred location! Good luck! When is it?I haven't passed DMI.
I'd received the email asking me to choose my preferred date for the paper tests, of which I've now had confirmation of my place.
Wednesday 26th, 1pmApologies I thought you meant preferred location! Good luck! When is it?
I've recently passed also. That e-mail was certainly the best I've ever had haha!Hi all, I’ve passed DMI recently and told I’m in the talent pool, what a feeling that is, after trying to apply for a number of years.
Anyone in a similar position - passed recently and in the pool for Crewe?
Thank you and well done to you too.I've recently passed also. That e-mail was certainly the best I've ever had haha!
I'm Shrewsbury. Hearing that Shrews course is filling up / filled for October which I had my fingers crossed I would / will get on! But yeah... Incredible achievement well done
Hi all, for everyone that has been through the processMy paper test was 9th Jan, computer and MMI on the 23rd Jan and DMI on 7th Feb.
Hi all, for everyone that has been through the process
Is this timeline typical for everyone, so two weeks between each stage?
Only because I have been invited for stage 1 at the end of July and have a holiday at the end of September so wondering if i need to let them know asap or just wait to see if I am successful at stage 1 - I don't want to jump the gun and look as though im presuming I will get through but also don't want to tell them last minute if I am successful.
Appreciate that thank you, sounds like a good plan. I’ll keep my fingers crossedIs the October course for Crewe and Shrewsbury only does anyone know?
In terms of timing it can be as quick as two weeks between stage 1 and 2 tests.
I’d wait to hear that you have passed Stage 1 then let them know if you can’t make the Stage 2 date they offer. They will get back with alternative dates.
Good luck with it.
I've only heard that towards the end of last week Shrews people had the call... Hoping the calls go into next week as to whether they mix them I honestly have no clue!Is the October course for Crewe and Shrewsbury only does anyone know?

Hi mate, congratulations on passing the DMI. I passed in May and in the talent pool for Crewe too. I was told by recruitment recently there’s no courses until early next year.Hi all, I’ve passed DMI recently and told I’m in the talent pool, what a feeling that is, after trying to apply for a number of years.
