Hi guys.

I travel from Oxford Circus to Victoria almost daily,

A few times in the last few weeks tube didn't stop at Green Park, just straight through to Victoria. There were many people on the platform waiting.

I'm deaf so can't hear the announcement so I've no idea what's going on.

Does anyone know? Surely they don't have a 'fast' train on the Victoria line?

TIA

Probably overcrowding elsewhere on the station so a few trains will non-stop to stop allow the congestion to dissipate and then normal service will resume,

Do you have details of when this happened?

I wonder if that is acceptable under disability rules.

Driver is obviously making an announcement, but not making any effort to display a message on the screens, don't know if it is because they are to lazy to input one, or not physically possible.

if "station skip" was used by the Control room, the train would make a station specific visual and audio announcement without driver intervention.

Drivers only have a limited selection of pre-recorded announcements/visuals, including “the next station is closed” etc - but not for specific stations.

Somewhere, not in London

That would rely on the SCR using the big "Station Skip" button on their control panel and the trains not being manually instructed into PM and skipping.

Although with the reliability of Focon equipment it wouldn't surprise me if that link had broke on one or two trains, or that the displays were simply missed, it's not a long announcement.

I can certainly say that I have never seen a "skipping the next station" message being displayed on ANY line in London other than with a long term planned rebuild type closure - and I've had quite a lot of station skips ( fortunately none that have caused me any delay or other inconvenience ).

The message to passenger facing equipment would be “the next station is closed”, skip or skipping is not used to passengers.

That's what I mean - I've never seen that appear... there's usually some unclear verbal message ( probably the driver is trying to eat the microphone ) then it sails through the next station without stopping. Nothing at all on the internal displays.

LU are currently obsessed with Real Time Information, but haven't yet fathomed that me making a verbal announcement (which is what they mark me on via mystery shoppers) is discriminatory towards people who can't hear.

I have a list of about 30-odd phrases, including "This train is being held here to help regulate the service", which both scrolls on the customer information displays and verbalises it over the PA system, but LU think the human voice is what's needed.

For those who can hear, the human voice is more likely to be listened to, so for announcements giving information that is out of the ordinary it is better as people are more likely to pay attention. But yes for those that can't hear the digital screen needs to be used too. That would be my preferred solution, driver announces the change and the screen flashes with a clear message.
