Trivia: Corridor served by most bus routes

I’ll start with Wirksworth and Matlock, with 5 services now connecting them, the 6.1, ls, X17, 110 and 111.

Obvious first question; how long do you think a corridor needs to be to count?

For example the road to the bus station probably doesn't count, but a road from the edge of town might?

Southampton to the Shirley Road/Waterloo Road junction is certainly a contender with eleven different bus routes: 4, 6, 7, X7, X7R, 8, 9, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.

I think you’re missing the point. I was thinking how many services connect one place to another, not where has the most services, so if I wanted to go from A to B, how many routes go from A to B

Between Gateshead and Newcastle a huge number of routes following the same corridor across the Tyne Bridge, around the city centre, into Eldon Square bus station, and back out through Newgate Street, High Level Bridge, and Wellington Street. These are: 21, 25, 28, 28B, 29, N21, X1, X1A, X10, X12, X21, X71, and X72. While some of these only run in the evenings or at peak times, ten of them are regular scheduled services.

There are also several other routes that go to Market Street which I've excluded from this, though arguably they do form part of the same corridor in parts of Newcastle city centre and over the High Level Bridge.

Are you after routes that run along the same road(s) between two places, or two places connected via multiple different routes?

Monday to Saturday sees Surrey towns Woking and Guildford connected by six bus routes (plus a railway line) - Falcon 28 via Brookwood, Stagecoach 34 via Sutton Green, Stagecoach 35 via Mayford, White Bus 462 via Burpham, White Bus 463 via Clandon, and First Railair RA2 direct.

The 34 and 35 do admittedly have some common sections with eachother and combine to provide a half-hourly frequency, likewise the 462 and 463 through the Old Woking and Send areas offering a combined hourly frequency with eachother, but a good bulk of all six routes between these points is separate.

In this very basic map drawn on the Surrey County Council bus map, 28 is blue, 34/35 differing routes yellow, 462/463 differing routes green, and RA2 in black. All routes are hourly, except the 462/463 which are two-hourly each.

Sheffield City Centre to Northern General Hospital Barnsley Road entrance has 1, 1a, 2, 2a, 29, 88, 95 & 95a.

Sheffield to Hunters Bar roundabout has 65, 81, 82, 83, 88 & 272.

Sheffield to Manor Top has 7, 8, 41, 50, 50a, 53, 80a & 120.

Perry Barr to Birmingham has the 33, 51, 52, 907, 934, 935, 936, 937(A), 997, as well as two trains per hour. The X51 also passes without stopping

Halifax to Ripponden has (4) the 561, 562, 586 and 587. Only the 586 and 567 share a route.
